Accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), this course allows you to study a range of contemporary themes within human geography, including globalisation, sustainability, identity and the diversity of human living.

As part of your course, you’ll:

• Engage with live projects through a wide range of field trips, from half-day site visits in Leeds to week-long field trips further afield, giving you the opportunity to apply your classroom learning in the real world

This course has been developed with local and national employers in the creative industries. You’ll benefit from the hands-on experience of staff who actively pursue research in this area, many of whom divide their time between academic work and commercial sector activities. You’ll have access to professional, industry-standard facilities. Our hardware and software systems are updated each year ensuring you use the same software as you will find in industry.

Throughout the course, you’ll practise presenting your work in front of a panel of tutors and industry professionals. Your final year project will be displayed at a tradeshow event where you can make contact with future employers. Previous students have found work with Disney Interactive Studios, Sky TV and many digital agencies.

Qualify as a registered mental health nurse and develop the expertise to be able to support people with mental illnesses in their homes and specialist health services.

As part of this course, you’ll:

• Spend time at university honing your specialist knowledge
• Practise your skills in a supported healthcare environment during placements
• Learn how to aid the recovery of people with mental health problems, while working alongside those in related health and social care professions, including adult nurses, social workers and dietitians

Completion of this course provides eligibility to apply for registration with the NMC as a qualified nurse - mental health nursing. Studying nursing with Leeds Beckett gives you access to a wide variety of placement opportunities within the NHS and the voluntary sector. We can offer these in many settings, including services in drug and alcohol, mother and baby, eating disorders and forensics.

You’ll have regular opportunities to interact with mental health service users throughout your study. Your placements will involve shift work and travel within the Leeds area.
