Sports Performance Analysis is an area experiencing massive growth, virtually every professional club and elite athlete employ or work with performance analysts who provide them with objective data to ultimately improve sporting performance. Roles typically include preparing statistical reports, preparing specific videos i.e. set pieces, coding matches via performance analysis software, identifying differences between teams/players via statistical analysis etc. This master’s course prepares students to work as a performance analyst by giving you the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge and skills to fulfil those roles.

Learn from academics who regularly work and consult with international teams, national governing bodies, elite clubs and athletes. Our pioneering programme is designed to prepare you for accreditation with the International Society of Performance Analysis of Sport. You will learn how to identify and develop performance indicators, how to create performance profiles, how to test reliability and get to grips with performance analysis software that is used in the industry.

You will gain experience as a performance analyst through our work-placement module. One of our partner organisations is Saracens Rugby Club and our facilities are housed at their nearby Barnet Copthall Stadium, home of Saracens Rugby Club, where we boast world-class performance laboratories, rehabilitation units and testing facilities (access may be restricted depending on COVID-19 restrictions). You will build invaluable industry contacts and we maintain contact with many of our graduates who have gone on to work in professional sport with clubs like Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Charlton FC, Saracens RFC and organisations like the English Institute of Sport, the RFU and the Lawn Tennis Association to name a few.

The BSc Environmental Health Apprenticeship degree* is professional programme that will prepare the apprentice for a career as an Environmental Health Practitioner in the public or private UK sector. They will gain the knowledge and skills to assess and apply effective solutions to improve environmental and public health in a variety of settings.

This programme has been designed to provide education to those wishing to enter the environmental health profession which upholds healthy environments and protects public health. Through their studies on-campus and experience in the workplace, the apprentice will explore the relationship between professional, domestic and leisure environments and how they impact on the health and well-being of individuals and societies. They will cover a range of topics and subject matter including public health, food safety, environmental protection, private sector housing improvement and occupational health and safety.

The apprentice will benefit from specialist teaching and learning spaces for environmental health, including a food inspection laboratory, an environmental and occupational health laboratory, a Grade 2 microbiology laboratory, a biology laboratory and chemistry laboratories. Our lecturers are environmental health practitioners with experience in key areas such as food safety, health and safety, and private sector housing.

Upon graduation, they will be prepared to enter careers in both the public and private sectors and will be confident in evaluating the legal and social framework within which environmental health operates. As this course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH), the apprentice will be encouraged to also complete the CIEH Chartered Practitioner Programme and become a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner.

The Foundation Year in Business is taught by the same lecturing staff who teach on our degree courses and you are taught in small group seminars, workshops and lectures. You will be able to develop transferable skills in business, communication and problem-solving.

BA Marketing

Effective marketing is essential to every successful organisation – and our BA Marketing is the ultimate stepping-stone to an exciting career across a range of disciplines. Biological science of the Third Millennium. encompasses and unites concepts, techniques and data from many allied sciences to provide a broader understanding of Life’s processes and interactions. The programme at Middlesex University is unique in combining a range of modules that cover a wide spectrum of biological sciences, but also integrates an emphasis on skills and experience acquisition that provides you with a valuable and marketable skill set. It is a programme for self- motivated students with a strong scientific interest who wish to develop their knowledge and practical skills in biology.

This programme builds upon a first year core of cell biology, microbiology, genetics, biochemistry, evolutionary biology, and biological techniques. This allows you to focus your studies upon your own interests in your second and third years. You will be able to select from modules in a variety of disciplines related to themes in molecular biology, bioinformatics, ecology and biodiversity.

Throughout your degree you will gain biological and transferable skills necessary for a scientific career. In your final year, you will be equipped to carry out your individual research project, supervised by one of our academics with expertise in ecological, molecular, microbiological microbiological or bioinformatics research. Such research will develop your personal flexibility and creativity whilst honing organisational and project management skills. Our product design degree gives you the knowledge, practical skills and industry experience to build a portfolio that will help you launch a career in a wide-range of sectors.    

Product designers are the visionaries who bring people and technology together. A BA in product design will open up both creative and technological career opportunities in areas that range from industrial design and engineering to mechanical design and creative technology.

Through project-based study, you'll develop the expert skills and understanding to combine aesthetic functionality and innovative technology. You’ll spend your first year studying a combination of product design and product design engineering to get a broad understanding of the fundamentals of both practices before choosing whether to continue with the BA Product Design or move across to our BEng Product Design Engineering programme.
