Neurophysiology skills are in short supply, and our specialist neurophysiology course equips you with the most demanded expertise, experience and skillset to make an impact as a healthcare scientist.

Through a mix of analysis, lab work and a 50 week industry placement, you’ll develop the knowledge, skills and experience to confidently investigate, diagnose, treat and monitor a range of neurological disorders, including epilepsy, strokes, dementia, nerve and muscle dysfunction and multiple sclerosis.

We’ve got psychology specialist laboratories and counselling practice rooms that, when available to access, will let you develop the practical skills needed to succeed in the field. Even in eventualities where we are unable to be in the laboratory or classroom together, we aim to use virtual tools to help you develop key practical skills.

Between the second and third years of study, you'll be encouraged to undertake an expenses-based year-long work placement. This will give you the chance to apply your knowledge, develop practical skills, and boost the chances of employment after you graduate. A range of established organisations are involved with our placement course, including Great Ormond Hospital School, St Georges Hospital, Priory Hospital, Institute of Psychiatry, Institute of Education, University College London, Holloway Prison, and the Metropolitan Police. The availability of placements is subject to the co-operating organisation, and we are working closely with our partners to make as many as possible available even during the pandemic. Digital media course has been especially designed to meet the skills and demands of the fast-moving creative industries. Combining theoretical knowledge and practical skills, you gain skills in areas such as new media, video production, website design, culture and more. Practice-based work includes video production (following Government safety guidelines), web design and HTML programming, data visualisation and smart environments. Great emphasis is also given to the management and analysis of social media platforms, with APIs and other sources used to present and assess social data.

You'll be taught by experienced technical tutors who know the industry inside out. They will guide through a series of modules like the compulsory Digital Media Practice module, which focuses on production methods: video, sound recording and mixing, advanced post-production, and many more.
