Develop your material and design skills through Ceramics, wood, Metal, plastics, Jewellery and Silversmithing. This Applied Art course focuses on the high quality craft skills needed to be a professional maker.

The BA(Hons) Applied Art programmes enable students to understand the importance of high quality making, of originality and how to generate personal responses to materials and processes.

In a society where the National Health Service is facing unprecedented demand, promoting good health and preventing poor health is of vital importance. There are many existing as well as new and exciting roles out there for public health and wellbeing graduates, from developing health promotion campaigns through to social prescribing and tackling health inequalities.

Students will

• be introduced to a whole range of health challenges affecting the nation, including obesity, substance misuse, loneliness, mental illness and air pollution & will learn what we can do to address these challenges.

Wrexham Glyndwr University has a proven track of success in Automotive Engineering and Motorsport. The course contains modules covering the essential aspects of the automotive engineering field, providing a solid background for a career in the automotive engineering and motorsport sector.

Lecturers and supporting staff have the required industrial experience and are practitioners (track racing, car building. etc.).

The laboratories at Wrexham Glyndwr University are equipped with up-to-date specialist equipment and vehicles.

The programme provides the opportunity to combine practical aspects as well as simulation-based projects. The university operates a computer lab with industry relevant software, e.g. CATIA, ANSYS (Mechanical and CFD)

An open and friendly atmosphere enhances the students’ learning experience. Strong links to local, national and international companies ensure the standard of teaching is industry relevant and they provide students’ with the best possible starting point into their professional career paths.

Learn and work in a real production environment – this Television Production and Technology course is developed in close collaboration with the BBC, Skillset and leading industry experts.

The course, which focuses on exploring current and emerging technologies applicable to still and moving image production, is different to many as students can engage in the day-to-day operation of the production facility, extending student participation beyond the lecture theatre.

Students will also develop a theoretical and practical understanding across a range of skills in pre-production, production and post-production.

The course centres around the use of the university’s television studio where students explore single and multi-camera filmmaking in addition to lighting and acquisition for visual effects work. It is designed to teach and develop skills across disciplines and covers a broad range of technologies that will help in the development of your own portfolio.

As well as the television studio, the course is built around the practical use of the university’s Centre for the Creative Industries and its wide range of facilities.  The centre is home to BBC Cymru in North East Wales.

With the Foundation Year giving you a solid introduction to university and the Built Environment, our Architectural Design Technology degree explores how design and technology work together, giving you practical working knowledge of both areas.

The course is fully accredited by the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) and you will be eligible for Associate Membership (ACIAT) on graduation. You can progress to full Chartered status with appropriate experience, and being a Chartered Architectural Technologists will give you all the same powers as an Architect but in considerably less time.
