Study wild animals and their habitats and pursue a career in Wildlife, Fisheries and Conservation. As a Wildlife, Fisheries and Conservation student, you’ll learn about fish, birds, mammals and more. But you’ll also focus on ecology, population biology, conservation genetics and learn critical thinking and quantitative skills so you can become a leader in bringing science to the dynamic management of fish and wildlife.

The Master of Engineering Management (MEM) program, a one-year master’s degree plan consisting of 30 semester credit hours, is designed for all engineers on management career paths as well as for those charged with managing technology in engineering, manufacturing, and other high-tech organizations. The MEM degree program will also benefit engineers pursuing licensure in states where candidates for professional licensure are required to have an additional 30 semester credit hours of coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree in engineering. The curriculum consists of courses offered by the A-State College of Engineering and Computer Science.

Program Outcomes
Program graduates will have:

• Graduates of the Master of Engineering Management program will be able to identify critical issues, formulate realistic solutions, evaluate alternatives, and solve technical problems.
• Graduates of the Master of Engineering Management program will be able to interpret statistical or deterministic models and concepts as well as apply them to technical problems.
• Graduates of the Master of Engineering Management program will be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to express alternatives and solutions dealing with technical problems.
• Graduates of the Master of Engineering Management program will be able to function effectively as a member or leader on a technical team.

The Arkansas State University MBA Program is a professional degree program designed to prepare students of all educational and professional backgrounds for management positions in all types of organizations. As such, the program stresses the development of analytical, problem-solving and decision making competencies for the dynamic, complex global organizational and social environments.

Marketing - Concentration
The MBA with a Concentration in Marketing program is designed to allow students to complement their studies in business administration with in-depth coverage of the core components of marketing theory as applied in today’s marketing environment. Students will complete the 27 hours within the MBA core (which includes one graduate level marketing course) and 9 additional hours of graduate level marketing coursework.

A major in political science offers valuable, comprehensive knowledge of American government and global politics, helping to prepare students to analyze complex political problems and recognize potential solutions in both the public and private sector. Students are able to gain an understanding of political structure, theory, and methodology. They can also develop their research skills and sense of intellectual property using libraries, archives, and online sources. The program provides an opportunity for students to develop their writing skills and learn the responsibility for clearly presenting and interpreting political issues using the language of the discipline. A major in political science helps students to analyze complex political problems and recognize potential solutions in both the public and private sectors.

Our traditional mode of the MPA program provides you with two tracks to choose from Public Management and Non-Profit Management. Our program doesn’t require the GRE, is NASPAA accredited, and one of the most affordable master’s programs in the country. With students from all over the world and nationally recognized professors, our MPA program will provide you with a close-knit family, bringing perspectives, passion, and knowledge from all around the world.

Additionally, if you are a current A-State undergraduate student and want to pursue an MPA after you graduate, you can do so by starting off during your senior year through our new 4+1 program. The Bachelor of Arts in Theatre is a 120-credit hour degree program designed to provide students with professional-caliber training within the framework of a liberal arts education with specific coursework in acting, directing, design, literature and history.

Emphases in Design Technology

The Design & Technology emphasis includes elective courses in costume, lighting, scenic and sound design, as well as courses in drawing, stage management, makeup and costume construction.

Creative Media Production is designed to nurture students with a passion for storytelling and communicating, and a talent for expressing themselves. Through experiential learning, students learn how to create and distribute content across multiple media platforms. This provides a solid foundation on which to build their careers in a variety of rewarding professions.

Degree Emphasis
You can emphasize your studies in one of these areas:

• Corporate Media (also Online) - Students create their own path of content creation for all platforms from broadcasting, filmmaking and web and social media content. The corporate media emphasis prepares students for the dynamic field of communication where message creation and distribution is learned by combining hands-on media production experiences with a solid theoretical foundation. Students may pursue a variety of production opportunities from creating content for broadcasting, corporate clients and organizations to writing, and producing their own films and video content.
• Graphic Communication - Think of all the products you use every day. Look at how they are designed, marketed, printed, packaged, sold and delivered. As a student in Graphic Communications, you will develop both the technical and creative abilities to become a successful professional in a technology-driven and dynamic multi-billion-dollar industry. Graphic Communications majors learn the skills necessary for many different career focuses, including graphic design, distribution, technology, printing, packaging, marketing and web design/development. Our unique concept of hands-on learning will prepare you for a variety of professions within the realm of graphic communications.
• Sports Media -  If you are passionate about sports and want to describe the stories around them then the Sports Media emphasis is for you. You can be on the sidelines near all the action as a camera operator, in the booth describing it live to an audience, or in the control room calling the shots as the director.Sports Media students are involved in studio and remote productions for radio, television, and online presentation. They are also interviewing the athletes and coaches for newscasts. Whether you desire to have your own online channel, work at a local broadcast station, or make it to a national network, you will be exposed to the latest methods and technologies demanded by today’s sports media

The field of clinical laboratory science offers opportunities for students who are interested in the biological and chemical sciences. Clinical laboratory scientists are academically prepared, skilled laboratory workers who perform a variety of analyses which aid the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

The BS-Clinical Laboratory Scientist degree is a 4-year program which provides an understanding of the theoretical and scientific fundamentals underlying the procedures involved, which include a broad based knowledge in the principles of human biology, chemistry, analytical instrumentation, and a familiarity with the educational and managerial aspects associated with one who occupies a professional role in a wide variety of settings.

Management is getting work done through other people. Managers perform a wide range of workplace activities, from establishing organization goals and ensuring progress towards those goals to organizing when and how activities and resources should be grouped together. Managers are asked to solve challenging workplace problems, often with limited human and financial resources. The Management major prepares students to design rewards for improved performance, set goals that motivate workers, and build an environment to create and sustain a competitive advantage.

The Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management Systems degree prepares graduates to understand the engineering relationships between the management tasks of planning, organization, leadership, control, and the human element in production, research, and service organizations; to understand and deal with the stochastic nature of management systems. The program also prepares graduates to integrate management systems into a series of different technological environments.
