Examine the humanistic and scientific perspectives of politics a field of study designed to help you embark on a career to help change the world. Political science is the study of government, public policy and the political behavior of individuals and groups. The Bachelor of Arts in Political Science program helps students cultivate clear and strong communication skills (writing, argumentation and presentation) as well as analytical abilities. Students examine the foundations of political science: theory, processes, principles, institutions, law, policy, international relations, foreign affairs, and ideas and methods. Students are encouraged to pursue opportunities outside of the classroom, such as internships at nonprofit organizations and government agencies, including the Arizona Legislature, the Arizona Superior Court and politicians' campaigns.

Political science is the study of government, public policy and the political behavior of individuals and groups. When students embark on a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with an emphasis in Ideas and Methods, they focus on theoretical questions that lead to real-world change. Students explore the processes, principles and structures of government and political institutions in the U.S. and in countries around the globe. Coursework covers international relations, political theory, foreign affairs, methodology and institutions, and includes hands-on internship opportunities at nonprofit organizations and government agencies. Students graduate with important writing, critical thinking and analytical skills.

The Bachelor of Science in Personal & Family Financial Planning introduces students to the core elements of financial planning and wealth management. Students enhance their studies with courses in law and ethics, personal and family dynamics, retirement strategies, risk management, federal income taxation and tax codes, professional conduct, fiduciary responsibility, investments and more. The Bachelor of Science in Education in Rehabilitation Studies and Services program at the University of Arizona teaches students the advocacy and empowerment skills required to fill vital community roles. Students graduate with thorough knowledge of the rehabilitation process and the skills needed to help individuals remove environmental barriers, gain equal access and achieve their goals. The program requires 34 credit hours and provides firsthand practice working on supervised casework in rehabilitation.

Students seeking a Bachelor of Music in Performance with a Voice emphasis gain instruction and mentorship from faculty members who regularly perform with major ensemble and opera companies. The Fred Fox School of Music ranks among the nation's top musical institutions. Classes include voice, music reading, diction for singers and more. As part of their conducted large-ensemble requirement, vocalists usually begin by singing in the University Singers/Kantorei and Honor Choir. Then they progress to the Symphonic Choir and even The Arizona Choir. Students also have access to the school's recording studio.

The field of ecology and evolutionary biology deals with the integration of biological systems across all levels of organization, from molecular biology to global ecosystems. Founded in 1975 and led by a renowned faculty, the Gender and Women's Studies department at the University of Arizona stands at the forefront of feminist research and curriculum. The Bachelor of Arts in Gender and Women's Studies is an interdisciplinary program that works to contest historical, ongoing and pervasive oppression based on gender, race, sexuality, class, ability and citizenship. Small class sizes encourage students to interact closely to learn the ways in which gender shapes society, culture, history, the economy and politics in the U.S. This approach to scholarship builds critical thinking, reading, writing and research skills.
