The field of health and human services is always in need of empathetic workers to serve as allies to individuals with disabilities. The Bachelor of Science in Education in Rehabilitation Studies and Services program at the University of Arizona teaches students the advocacy and empowerment skills required to fill vital community roles. Students graduate with thorough knowledge of the rehabilitation process and the skills needed to help individuals remove environmental barriers, gain equal access and achieve their goals. The program requires 34 credit hours and provides firsthand practice working on supervised casework in rehabilitation.

Expand your knowledge of the world's ecosystems and develop strategies to address the complex issues society faces in its stewardship of our planet's resources. The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science offers an emphasis in Soil, Air and Water. Students who opt for this track gain a broad scientific understanding of human influence on the natural world, from the molecular level to a global scale. Through work in classrooms, in labs and in the field, students learn how to properly collect soil, water and air samples, identify and implement appropriate analytical techniques, and interpret results. They also gain a deeper understanding of how environmental systems sustain climate, purify water, provide food and fiber, and remediate pollution.

The program provides instruction in the languages, cultures, and civilizations of East Asia (China, Japan, and Korea); Asian humanities and religions; and Asian-American studies. Individual programs may emphasize the language, linguistics, literature, history, thought, religion, and society (ancient or modern) of more than one cultural area (China, Japan, or Korea). Students may specialize in the East Asian region or one or more discipline-focused studies of East Asian subjects. Advanced study of Chinese, Japanese, or Korean is required.

Mexican American Studies examines the Mexican American experience as informed by social and health sciences, history, law and humanities. Students in this Bachelor of Arts major gain insight into how government and public policy, minority health disparities, urban planning, law, immigration, language and more affect the Mexican American population. Current U.S. demographic trends show that Mexican Americans live and work in the Southwest, the Midwest and the South, and many of these communities need people who are knowledgeable about the challenges and trajectories of Mexican Americans. Whether you possess a natural talent for rhythm or wish to develop one, your studies in percussion will grant you a diverse range of professional opportunities. The Bachelor of Music in Performance with a Percussion emphasis is designed to develop in students the highest possible level of musicianship and competency in performance and teaching. The faculty at the Fred Fox School of Music instructs and mentors students in percussion methods, chamber percussion groups and percussion ensembles. The curriculum presents students with a relevant sequence of study of all the percussion instruments. Students acquire performance skills and experience in solo and ensemble performance; historical and stylistic understanding; mastery of technical facility; and pedagogical concepts of teaching procedure and practice.

From personal relationships and workplace dynamics to media messaging, learn how to understand and master the complexities of communication. Communication is the scientific study of how humans interact with one another. Students in the Bachelor of Arts in Communication program examine the processes and effects of communication in four areas: interpersonal, mass, health and social influence. Because communication is the most fundamental social behavior by which individuals function, its study is relevant to a wide range of academic and career interests. Coursework focuses on learning to write clearly, effectively and persuasively; understanding how to convey complex ideas simply; developing critical thinking skills; and identifying how to thoughtfully consume media. Learn to speak, read and understand Japanese fluently as an essential and transferable skill for those who wish to pursue a career in the global economy.The Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies allows students to focus on one of two areas: language or culture. The Japanese Language Intensive emphasis teaches language proficiency on three levels, from beginning to advanced, as well as offers specialized instruction in advanced reading, writing and conversation. Students might be asked to take a placement exam to determine their level. Upon graduation, students can communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) with Japanese speakers. They also display competency in reading materials in Japanese. Additionally, the program provides enriching opportunities for study abroad.

The Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences with an Animal Industry emphasis takes an interdisciplinary approach to educating students on how business and animal science pair in industries such as dairy production, food safety, research, marketing and more. Coursework includes business law and accounting and marketing principles, as well as science-based classes such as microbiology and physiology. The Animal Industry emphasis enables students to tailor the degree to their interests by allowing them five major elective courses in the following areas: Animal and Biomedical Sciences, Microbiology, Natural Resources, Agricultural & Resource Economics, and Molecular and Cellular Biology. Faculty and mentors associated with the program challenge students to apply their studies to address real-world challenges in the animal industry and agribusiness.
