Global Studies teaches students to think critically about global issues from a variety of disciplines. This Bachelor of Arts uses intellectual and experiential frameworks to empower students to analyze, communicate, problem-solve and empathize. The Literature Arts and Film emphasis educates future leaders of the new global society, a role that requires a high level of intercultural and multilingual competence. Students discover the critical part that cultural production plays in the international landscape and equips them with the skills to shape that landscape. Students become adaptable to unfamiliar environments and are able to assess cultural differences in professional settings and communicate well with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Learn to speak, read and understand Japanese fluently as an essential and transferable skill for those who wish to pursue a career in the global economy.The Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies allows students to focus on one of two areas: language or culture. The Japanese Language Intensive emphasis teaches language proficiency on three levels, from beginning to advanced, as well as offers specialized instruction in advanced reading, writing and conversation. Students might be asked to take a placement exam to determine their level. Upon graduation, students can communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) with Japanese speakers. They also display competency in reading materials in Japanese. Additionally, the program provides enriching opportunities for study abroad.

After auditioning for placement, undergraduate instrumentalists progress from the wind symphony and philharmonic to the wind ensemble, symphony orchestra, and chamber winds. In addition to participating in large conducted ensembles, Performance majors take core classes in music literature, music history, pedagogy, orchestration, conducting, piano and applied lessons. Make a difference in the lives of dual-language youth by majoring in Elementary Education with a bilingual endorsement. Elementary educators with a bilingual endorsement help bilingual students gain foundational footing in core subjects. In addition to a Bachelor of Arts in Education, students in the two-year program also earn an Elementary Certificate K-8 with a bilingual endorsement in English and Spanish. This credential allows them to teach in bilingual or dual-language classrooms or traditional settings. During the program, students split time between the University of Arizona and a local K-8 school. At the elementary school, they immerse themselves in Spanish and gain teaching experience with diverse language learners. Students also have the opportunity to student-teach in Mexico.

The public health field always has a need for analytical minds for tracking and prevention of disease. The University of Arizona's Bachelor of Science with a major in Public Health is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health. Students pursuing the Quantitative Methods in Public Health emphasis take courses on the acquisition, assessment, analysis, management and communication of health data. Our planet is more than meets the eye. Explore Earth from its origin and history to its components and how they interact with each other. Students who select the Bachelor of Science in Geosciences with a Geology emphasis take an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the planet. In this top-ranked program, students learn scientific research skills; gain experience working with data and technology in the field and in the laboratory; and study the Earth's origin and history, as well as the planet's components and how they interact with one another. Geology students participate in a Capstone Summer Field Camp in the later part of their program that provides hands-on experience applying their content knowledge in the field.
