Gain the knowledge to impact one of the world's most pressing social and environmental problems in food. Food studies is a rapidly growing field in North America as the demand increases for experts in food-related policy, food justice and food culture. Students in this new Bachelor of Arts program (offered in collaboration with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences) prepare to become change-makers in the world's food system through an interdisciplinary approach to examining food in all its dimensions: cultural, economic, health and environmental. Tucson is an ideal setting for food studies; it recently earned the coveted honor of a UNESCO City of Gastronomy and was the first city in the U.S. to gain the designation.

Anthropology is the study of all aspects of human existence. Students in this Bachelor of Arts program learn to ask questions about essential components of the human experience, such as language, cultural development, environment and biology. Guided by respected anthropologists, students hone their ability to describe, interpret and predict human behavior, a skill applicable to industries as far-reaching as journalism and technology. The coursework relies on an integrated approach that focuses on four subdisciplines: cultural, linguistic and biological anthropologies, plus archaeology. The field of health and human services is always in need of empathetic workers to serve as allies to individuals with disabilities. The Bachelor of Science in Education in Rehabilitation Studies and Services program at the University of Arizona teaches students the advocacy and empowerment skills required to fill vital community roles. Students graduate with thorough knowledge of the rehabilitation process and the skills needed to help individuals remove environmental barriers, gain equal access and achieve their goals. The program requires 34 credit hours and provides firsthand practice working on supervised casework in rehabilitation.

Students pursuing the Bachelor of Arts in French can opt for two areas of focus. The Language, Literature and Culture emphasis is ideal for students who are considering graduate studies in French or who are interested in achieving a high level of competency in the language. Courses are taught in French by the department's esteemed scholars in French and Francophone language. Students are encouraged to study in Paris as part of a study abroad program that is among the best-established programs at the University of Arizona. In addition to learning to communicate fluently in French, students strengthen their skills in reading, writing, critical thinking and analysis.
