Our mission is to prepare students to be leaders in the real estate profession and to address the significant built environment challenges of the 21st century: sustainability, gentrification, poverty, the decline of brick and mortar retail and the shifts in demographics. Students will learn to address economic, social, and ecological issues when developing commercial, industrial, institutional, mixed use and residential real estate development projects. Philadelphia provides examples and case studies for much of the curriculum, but national and international examples are also investigated.

By focusing on the quadruple bottom line of real estate development and combining environmental sustainability, social consciousness, design excellence, financial feasibility and economic viability, students gain first-hand experience how real estate development invigorates communities and shapes healthy places to live, work, and play. Using the greater Philadelphia area, as a living laboratory, students learn to approach projects at various scales, ranging from single buildings to entire districts or neighborhoods.

Students have the option of taking classes in person at our East Falls Campus in Philadelphia, or take part in an online, low residency cohort. This cohort meets in person once a semester with other MSRED students and faculty in Philadelphia or another city in the region, while fulfilling all other requirements in a live online learning environment. Students in both programs have the opportunity to network with industry professionals, tour real project sites and neighborhoods, and learn from guest speakers through lectures, conferences and seminars

The Interior Design Program at Jefferson is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) and a top ranked undergraduate program in the U.S. Known for our excellence in interior design education we prepare graduates for successful careers in the evolving global marketplace. The Bachelor of Science in Interior Design program is grounded in the belief that the interior designer mediates between the human experience and the built environment and should enter the global marketplace as articulate, creative, inspired and socially aware design professionals. You start collecting chemical knowledge and skills through core courses and shadowing faculty and upper-level student researchers. Jefferson's active, collaborative approach to education in our Nexus Learning model is the foundation of this program’s curriculum. In a hands-on learning environment, students examine new fashion designs, ideas and technologies to create viable business models and market-driven innovation. In addition to the 22 core credit hours, the MSGFE program culminates in 9 credits of Global Fashion Project courses. This unique experience allows for significant customization for students to meet career aspirations. In these courses, students from disparate backgrounds work in teams to find new product or system opportunities, then design and prototype functional products or systems that answer the requirements of their research findings. Students also benefit from the projects by working directly with successful fashion and apparel companies. Regular meetings with outside project stakeholders take place to give students networking opportunities that may translate into exciting internship and employment opportunities.

The Finance Program at Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) prepares students to become professionals with a comprehensive understanding of global financial markets and financial institutions.

Our graduates are prepared with skills to tackle complex financial problems, and have the professionalism to work effectively in any environment. What is Animation?
Animation is the process of combining design, storytelling and production to add life to many types of media. This can include animation for film, television, visual effects, websites, multimedia presentations, mobile applications and video games.

The Bachelor of Science in Construction Management program at Thomas Jefferson University is accredited by the Applied and Natural Science Accreditation Commission (ANSAC) of ABET.  ABET-ANSAC evaluates 4-year Construction Management programs to approve that “Graduates of Construction Management programs will have the knowledge, as well as the technical, administrative and communication skills, necessary to succeed in the construction industry.” The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) program, BS in Construction Management emphasizes the importance of a rich and productive collaboration between construction, project management and design.

The industry-centered curriculum prepares students for leadership roles in this challenging, multi-faceted, competitive field to contribute to a project or firm immediately upon graduation. Our Mission
Jefferson’s construction management program’s mission is to prepare students to be ethical, innovative problem-solvers who understand the full construction business model. Upon graduation, students possess a working knowledge of the construction business model and will be equipped with the technical knowledge and administrative and communication skills to plan and manage each phase of the construction process.

The Master of Science Program in Cell & Developmental Biology prepares its graduates for positions in research and development in academia, industry and government. Graduates may be employed as basic research scientists in academic institutions and industrial positions, or may go on to further study in PhD and professional doctoral programs.

This program consists of a core basic science curriculum in cell and developmental biology, supplemented with elective courses suited to individual career interests in the basic sciences or in management. Students in our program receive training in theoretical, experimental and practical aspects of normal cell development as well as abnormal aspects of these processes, which may cause birth defects or disease.
The program may be completed on a part-time or accelerated (coursework) schedule over a period of 1.5 to four years. Courses are offered late afternoon/early evening and meet once per week, allowing students the flexibility to work while taking classes or devote their full attention to their studies. Flexibility is the key.
