The Human Genetics and Genetic Counseling MS program will provide students integrative education and training to become compassionate and knowledgeable genetic counselors.

Learning Outcomes

• Jefferson College of Life Sciences launched our MS program in Human Genetics & Genetic Counseling, in the Fall of 2017.  
• Employment of genetic counselors is projected to grow 21% from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all occupations as reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. There are only 48 graduate genetic counseling programs in the country.  Placement of a new genetic counseling program within the rich clinical and health science environment of the Jefferson enterprise would provide students significant competitive advantage.
• The learning outcomes for our program are based on the 2019 Practice-Based Competencies for Genetic Counselors set forth by the Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling:

The Bachelor of Science in Textile Product Science (TPS) prepares students to work in a global industry that includes fiber-engineered products for medical, geotextiles, architecture, fiber-reinforces composites and traditional apparel and home-furnishing applications. TPS program is comprised of thirteen (13) core textile courses, which delineate all TPS majors. The true interdisciplinary nature of Textile Product Science is realized in the student’s ability to select advanced work in one of the five, 9-course concentrations.

Another dimension of the program will be to educate and graduate fully integrated individuals who possess the technical and social competence and confidence to succeed in professional practice and advanced education, be lifelong learners and exercise responsible stewardship.

The Master of Science degree in Construction Management (MSCM), a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) program, is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to plan and manage each phase of the construction process as applied to complex commercial, infrastructure and residential building projects. The mission of the program is to provide students with a broad practice–oriented understanding of construction technology, business, architecture, and engineering, with specific emphasis on the management of the construction process from project inception to close-out. Courses within the program are designed to prepare graduates to excel in leadership positions, with a focus on building quality projects, safely, on time, within budget, and to customer expectations.

Hands-on activities allow students to learn and excel in construction-related activities and software applications. Classes are offered in an on campus (day and evening), hybrid, and/or online version to allow students to have the flexibility of planning their schedules and continuing to work in their jobs.

The Finance Program at Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) prepares students to become professionals with a comprehensive understanding of global financial markets and financial institutions.

Our graduates are prepared with skills to tackle complex financial problems, and have the professionalism to work effectively in any environment. As a student in the program, you will have the opportunity to network with industry professionals, participate in international competitions, manage an investment portfolio through our Student Managed Investment Fund, study abroad for a semester, and earn your iMBA degree in one additional year while preparing for the Chartered Financial Analyst Level I (CFA) exam.

Thomas Jefferson University’s Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) is a five-year professional degree program accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). Students receive an industry-centered, liberal arts-infused education, blending academic scholarship with hands-on, professional learning. Ranked 7th in the U.S. and 4th in the East by DesignIntelligence, the M.S. in Industrial Design is a professional program based on interdisciplinary project work. In this program, you will learn to design effectively at the collaborative and chaotic “front end” of the product-development process. You will work with product users, researchers, businesspeople, engineers and manufacturers to create products and systems that are better at serving their users, societies and the world at large.

We like busy people, because busy people are ambitious, curious people. Many of our courses are taught in the afternoon and evening, to allow flexible scheduling for students who have outside obligations.

The M.S. in Industrial Design will prepare you for entrepreneurial work in the field, or for a position in a corporate design department or design consulting firm.

The Master of Science in Clinical Research was created to prepare students for the wide array of career opportunities in the clinical research industry. This program is well suited for career changers with a background in life, physical or clinical sciences that would like to break into the field of clinical research. It is also appropriate for individuals already in the industry and looking for additional graduate-level training.

The field of clinical research is rapidly expanding and knowledgeable professionals are needed to coordinate, manage, and administer clinical trials. This master of science degree will provide students with the foundation needed to be successful in the field of clinical research.

Students completing the MS in Clinical Research will:

• Understand the experimental design, statistical analysis and interpretation, and regulatory and ethical issues pertaining to human clinical research and trials.
• Be able to read, understand, and critique published reports of clinical trials.
• Acquire management skills that will enable them to successfully manage multi-disciplinary teams involved in clinical research projects.
• Be prepared for employment in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as academic and hospital clinical research settings.
