The Master of Science in Microbiology & Immunology Program offers choices for career specialization with flexible schedules, professional training for academic credit and academic preparation for national professional certification.

The broad-based curriculum includes a minimum of 40 credits. Course content includes:

Master's research thesis or, alternatively, a Non-Thesis Option
The program may be completed on a part-time or accelerated (coursework) schedule over a period of 1.5 to four years. Courses are offered late afternoon/early evening and meet once per week, allowing students the flexibility to work while taking classes or devote their full attention to their studies. The Bachelor of Science in Construction Management program at Thomas Jefferson University is accredited by the Applied and Natural Science Accreditation Commission (ANSAC) of ABET.  ABET-ANSAC evaluates 4-year Construction Management programs to approve that “Graduates of Construction Management programs will have the knowledge, as well as the technical, administrative and communication skills, necessary to succeed in the construction industry.” The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) program, BS in Construction Management emphasizes the importance of a rich and productive collaboration between construction, project management and design.

Our Mission
Jefferson’s construction management program’s mission is to prepare students to be ethical, innovative problem-solvers who understand the full construction business model. Upon graduation, students possess a working knowledge of the construction business model and will be equipped with the technical knowledge and administrative and communication skills to plan and manage each phase of the construction process.

The M.S. in Interior Architecture is a 49 or 69-credit graduate program structured to meet the needs of students from both non-design, design and architecture backgrounds seeking one of the best professional-level education in interior design/interior architecture. The program offers up to one year of advanced standing for those already in the field who are interested in refining their knowledge and skills at the graduate level. This program prepares students to reach their full potential, whether seeking an introduction or building on previous experience.

As an Interior Architecture program, we emphasize how the interior environment encompasses all parts of the interior volume and acknowledges the intersection between architecture and interiors. The curriculum integrates theory with the technical skills needed for practical application and immerses students in current technologies and sustainable practice as they work collaboratively and think critically to discover innovative solutions. The Master of Science in Clinical Research was created to prepare students for the wide array of career opportunities in the clinical research industry. This program is well suited for career changers with a background in life, physical or clinical sciences that would like to break into the field of clinical research. It is also appropriate for individuals already in the industry and looking for additional graduate-level training.

The field of clinical research is rapidly expanding and knowledgeable professionals are needed to coordinate, manage, and administer clinical trials. This master of science degree will provide students with the foundation needed to be successful in the field of clinical research.

Students completing the MS in Clinical Research will:

• Understand the experimental design, statistical analysis and interpretation, and regulatory and ethical issues pertaining to human clinical research and trials.
• Be able to read, understand, and critique published reports of clinical trials.
• Acquire management skills that will enable them to successfully manage multi-disciplinary teams involved in clinical research projects.
• Be prepared for employment in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as academic and hospital clinical research settings.

The new transformational (12 months) 36-credit Master’s Degree Program in Biopharmaceutical Process Engineering will be delivered at the Jefferson Institute for Bioprocessing (JIB) and is ideal for employment focused graduates with first degrees in Life Sciences and Engineering.

The Jefferson Institute for Bioprocessing (JIB) is a 25,000 sq. ft. state-of-the art facility designed for the training of industry professionals, as well as the education of the next generation of scientists and engineers interested in pursuing rewarding careers in biomanufacturing. Biopharmaceutical Processing is a rapidly growing industry focused on the development of robust processes to manufacture high value biologics and advanced therapeutics for patients with debilitating and life limiting diseases that affect millions of patients worldwide, such as cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s.

Training and education in biopharmaceutical processing are exceptionally laboratory intensive. At JIB our students spend less time in traditional classroom settings and more time in JIB’s pilot-scale facility fully equipped with the most advanced technologies and processes used by industry to manufacture biopharmaceuticals.

For the hybrid option, the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 schedule for courses requiring the completion of on-site hands-on laboratory related coursework will be available prior to the start of each respective semester. In each instance, the on-site coursework will be scheduled in continuous late-semester blocks to avoid the necessity of frequent travel.

The Fashion Merchandising and Management Program at Jefferson features an immersive, career-focused curriculum that prepares students to contribute to all aspects of the fashion value chain. Thomas Jefferson University’s Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) is a five-year professional degree program accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). The accounting program at Thomas Jefferson University prepares you to become a professional with a broad understanding of public accounting and financial management of corporate and nonprofit organizations.

You will have the opportunity to network with accounting industry professionals from day one, participate in industry-sponsored projects, complete an exciting semester abroad, or help to run our Student Managed Investment Fund. You can also earn your iMBA degree in one additional year of study while preparing for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst Level 1 (CFA) exam.

Sonography (ultrasound) uses sound waves to generate an image for the assessment and diagnosis of various medical conditions. It can be used to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions in the body. It is often associated with imaging during pregnancy. Sonographers provide guidance during fine-needle tissue biopsy and use sophisticated diagnostic ultrasound imaging machines and transducers that use high-frequency sound waves to produce dynamic visual images of:

• Abdominal organs (including liver, gallbladder, kidney)
• Pelvis
• Obstetrics (pregnancy)
• Superficial structures (including breast, testis, thyroid)
• Abdominal blood vessels

Sonographers work directly with healthy and critically ill inpatients and outpatients of all ages, performing predominantly noninvasive procedures in small, low-lit rooms. They stand or sit beside the patient, who is on a stretcher, exam table or wheelchair. Sometimes the sonographer will transport a portable ultrasound to a patient's room and perform the test there.
