Auburn’s Bachelor of Science in Building Construction (BSCI) Program is a four-year ACCE accredited program focused on construction management including specialized training in estimating, scheduling, project management, safety, surveying, sustainable construction, and structures.

Our Bachelor of Arts in sociology gives you an understanding of these social contexts and helps you develop skills in oral and written communication, critical thinking, and research. Because our faculty specialize in a wide range of fields, you’ll take courses on organizations, criminal and deviant behavior, social psychological processes, family life, legal institutions, medical systems, human population dynamics, and international development. The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in social work is a dynamic degree program that equips you with the professional knowledge, values, and skills to engage in generalist social work practice across social work settings. You'll engage in practicums and internships to gain real-world experience. You'll learn from professors who have both research and clinical backgrounds in mental health, children and families, gerontology, policy analysis, disabilities, crisis management, and homelessness.

The Master of Science in Data Science and Engineering program, offered on campus and online, prepares students to pursue careers in data science and engineering, where valuable insights are derived from massive amounts of raw data. Our high?quality curriculum offers an excellent balance between theory and application, equipping students with foundational skills and state?of?the?art technologies related to the next generation of big data applications.

On-campus students will be able to complete this graduate program in one to two years, while online students typically have up to six years to complete their coursework. This program blends graduate?level courses in core topics like data mining, machine learning, and statistical learning. The program also offers a wide variety of electives in addition to a required capstone experience, in which students apply their knowledge and skills to a real?world application scenario.

There are two formal options in the program: the data engineering option, administered by the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, and the data science option, managed by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Both options are now available to online students.

Public relations is an exciting, fast-paced field that combines multiple media-related functions. Public relations professionals help create and sustain a positive image for an organization by coordinating with the media, event planning, writing and market research.

Our Bachelor of Arts in public relations teaches you all elements of the public relations process—from research, planning, communication, and evaluation to communication strategies, media tactics, and the application of public relations in society today. You’ll develop strong skills in ethical reasoning, strategic thinking, and creative problem solving, along with written and oral communication skills. You’ll gain hands-on experiences through our service-learning component, which requires you to work in teams with our community partners.

The Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition/Dietetics consists of a 2-year pre-professional component and the 2-year Professional Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD). Graduates who successfully complete the Didactic Program in Dietetics are qualified to apply for a post-baccalaureate supervised-practice program (e.g., a dietetic internship), which is a requirement for eligibility to take the National Registration Examination for Dietitians and earn the RD/RDN credential.

Our Department of Horticulture has been recognized nationally for its research programs, its student-centered faculty members and its high rate of employment for graduates. As a horticulture major, you’ll learn how to establish, propagate, harvest and manage fruits, vegetables and ornamental plants.
