This degree produces graduates who are able to identify, formulate, analyze and solve complex biosystems engineering problems by using appropriate tools and techniques, including independent research, and who can effectively communicate to technical and non-technical audiences. Graduates are prepared for employment in national laboratories, industry and universities, and are able to design, develop, regulate, research and manage the systems and technologies needed to produce, transport, store and use natural resources to meet humanity’s most fundamental needs such as safe and abundant food, clean water, fiber, and renewable sources of fuel; and bio-based life-enhancing and life-saving products.

The Hospitality Management (HOSP) program provides a strong educational foundation and excellent career preparation for students interested in the premium service segment of the hospitality industry. The HOSP curriculum offers a variety of courses and unique experiential learning opportunities designed to prepare our graduates to pursue successful management and/or entrepreneurial opportunities in the hotel/lodging, restaurant, event planning, culinary, country club, foodservice or beverage industries.

The Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRMG) option is designed to prepare students for careers in the premium service segment of the lodging and food service industries. This sector spans both the commercial and non-commercial aspects of the broader hospitality industry and presents itself as a key contributor to the economic wellbeing of the state of Alabama and the nation. The non-thesis Master of Cybersecurity Engineering positions students to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to protect our nation's systems against cyber attacks. The program will provide graduates with advanced knowledge in computer and network security, digital forensics, advanced operating systems, reverse engineering, and other areas of expertise.

The Global Studies in Human Sciences curriculum is designed to educate students on relevant global issues, the realities of globalization and how local and global issues are interconnected. Through required course work in the major and minor field, students will gain first-hand experience and be prepared for professional careers in the global studies field as it relates to human sciences.

The Global Studies in Human Sciences major draws on content relevant to human sciences (e.g., international nutrition, hunger and food insecurity, microlending and entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability, maternal and child health, education of women and girls, global markets, goods and services, humanitarian aid and social policy) as well as the faculty expertise of the Dean’s administrative team and the three departments in the College.

With a growing emphasis on preventative health care and interest in health, wellness and improved quality of life among consumers and employers, Auburn University's degree option in Nutrition and Wellness is designed to prepare students for successful career entry into the broad health and wellness professions.
