The Hospitality Management (HOSP) program provides a strong educational foundation and excellent career preparation for students interested in the premium service segment of the hospitality industry. The HOSP curriculum offers a variety of courses and unique experiential learning opportunities designed to prepare our graduates to pursue successful management and/or entrepreneurial opportunities in the hotel/lodging, restaurant, event planning, culinary, country club, foodservice or beverage industries.

The Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRMG) option is designed to prepare students for careers in the premium service segment of the lodging and food service industries. This sector spans both the commercial and non-commercial aspects of the broader hospitality industry and presents itself as a key contributor to the economic wellbeing of the state of Alabama and the nation. The hotel and restaurant management curriculum It is designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills for leadership success in this dynamic employment sector, and also to empower those who may, at some future date, wish to establish their own lodging or food oriented businesses.

Whether it is generating and distributing electrical power, designing advanced medical imaging and diagnostic equipment, creating communication systems to connect the world, or building next-generation robots, electrical engineering is the application and control of electricity.

The major in agricultural science offers a broad base of knowledge and expertise across a variety of agricultural disciplines. The cross-disciplinary program was developed in response to a growing and more diverse agricultural industry as well as the increased need among related industries for a more broadly skilled workforce.

An agricultural science degree will prepare you for careers in such fields as agribusiness, extension, government agencies, production agriculture and commodity groups. It is also an excellent foundation for graduate studies and an ideal double-major for Auburn agriscience education students.

What you’ll Study
We call agricultural science the big-picture major because it offers a broad overview of 21st-century agriculture. As a student in the program, you’ll take courses that run the gamut from crop science, entomology and landscape gardening to agribusiness marketing, farm equipment repair and aquaculture production.

With a growing emphasis on preventative health care and interest in health, wellness and improved quality of life among consumers and employers, Auburn University's degree option in Nutrition and Wellness is designed to prepare students for successful career entry into the broad health and wellness professions. A multitude of career opportunities now present themselves throughout the voluntary, public and private sectors as employers, employees and private citizens alike are expressing great interest in a healthier working and/or living environment. Successful graduates will provide the education and counselling necessary to help citizens lead healthier and better quality lives, while helping employers improve employee productivity through the provision of a healthier workplace environment.

Our Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatre design and technology offers a practical foundation in all areas of theater production, including lighting, sound, costume design, technical direction, and construction. You’ll have opportunities to apply new technical and conceptual knowledge in hands-on production work. You’ll work with national and international guest artists as well as travel nationally and internationally to attend workshops and exhibitions.

Auburn’s Wildlife Enterprise Management (WLEM) degree is one of only two such programs in the United States.  This cross-disciplinary degree program, founded on the basic principles of wildlife management, hospitality services, and business management, ensures that graduates are prepared for employment at any of thousands of hunting and fishing lodges, ranches, corporate retreat facilities, and other consumptive use facilities worldwide.

The degree is collaboratively taught by world-renowned faculty from the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences and the Colleges of Business and Human Sciences.  With this program, students gain the necessary skill set required of graduates and access to a wide range of internship opportunities across the globe. This combination of innovative classroom instruction and real-world experience assures graduates are able to take advantage of abundant career opportunities.

The Event Management Option is designed to attract students pursuing careers in the multi-faceted and ever-evolving commercial, and non-commercial Meetings, Incentive, Conference and Events (MICE) sector. As is the case both nationally and globally, the events sector now makes a significant contribution to the socio-economic wellbeing of the state of Alabama and the nation. Over recent decades, public, private and voluntary sector businesses (including those in the education sector) throughout the state and beyond have been outsourcing social and business events such as meetings, incentive travel, conferences and events (MICE). This program is designed to position Auburn University to keep pace with this emerging economic sector by educating the trained professionals needed to meet the continuing demands of the state’s and nations ever-developing hospitality industry and in particular those interested in pursuing a career in the event management field.
