Auburn University's Master of Science in Statistics program balances the theory and application of statistics. The curriculum focuses on two key elements required of professional statisticians. First, you learn the fundamentals of statistics and its interdisciplinary nature. Then you gain the necessary technical, analytical, and interpretive skills to succeed in your career. And you can specialize your studies to best match your desired career in academia, government, or the private industry. Before graduating, you’ll need to complete and defend a thesis, and obtain a passing score on the related oral examination.

Our Bachelor of Arts in music is a unique combination of music training and a traditional liberal arts education. We blend academic knowledge, musical ability, and performance skills to create musicians and music scholars who contribute intellectually and creatively to society through music. You'll take courses in applied lessons, ensemble participation, music history, music theory, aural skills, conducting, and upper division courses in music. Applied mathematics is a branch of mathematics that deals with mathematical methods that find use in science, engineering, business, computer science, and industry. Thus, applied mathematics is a combination of mathematical science and specialized knowledge. The term "applied mathematics" also describes the professional specialty in which mathematicians work on practical problems by formulating and studying mathematical models. In the past, practical applications have motivated the development of mathematical theories, which then became the subject of study in pure mathematics where abstract concepts are studied for their own sake. The activity of applied mathematics is thus intimately connected with research in pure mathematics.

The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design is a flexible, multi-disciplinary degree. The degree content includes:

• Five core environmental design courses
• Directed electives
• Free electives

Students are encouraged to use the free electives to earn one or two minors.

Two summers of coursework are required for the environmental design workshop series. The degree is a good option for students who are interested in pursuing graduate studies in design, planning, and construction-related programs.

The Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering provides students opportunities to obtain the skills necessary to define, formulate, and solve advanced problems through education and research in the field of mechanical engineering.

Computer engineering emphasizes design, implementation and maintenance of hardware and software components of modern computing systems, computer-controlled equipment, and networks of intelligent devices.
