Auburn University's Master of Science in Statistics program balances the theory and application of statistics. The curriculum focuses on two key elements required of professional statisticians. Our creative writing major is an exciting learning experience that spans multiple genres. You’ll take courses that focus on the “architecture” of stories, poems, and essays; learn how each piece works; and apply those lessons to the creation of your original work. Workshops, conferences, and discussions of craft are the focal point of classroom instruction.

Our Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatre management leads to a professional career as a stage or production manager for theaters, concert venues, or theme parks. You’ll take courses in stage management, production management, and events management, as well as related courses in civic engagement, public relations, and business. There are numerous opportunities on and off-campus for hands-on experience as a house manager, production assistant, events manager, assistant stage manager, or production stage manager.

The BS in Chemistry provides a strong background in chemistry while allowing students to specialize in areas of interest. It is especially well suited for students leaning towards medical sciences while allowing more flexibility than that allowed in the American Chemical Society-approved biochemistry curriculum. The program allows for great versatility in the junior and senior years, allowing the curriculum to be tailored to individual goals. The curriculum prepares students for professional careers in chemistry or biochemistry and advanced degree programs in chemistry, biochemistry and medically related fields.

Our Bachelor of Arts in music is a unique combination of music training and a traditional liberal arts education. We blend academic knowledge, musical ability, and performance skills to create musicians and music scholars who contribute intellectually and creatively to society through music. You'll take courses in applied lessons, ensemble participation, music history, music theory, aural skills, conducting, and upper division courses in music. The Bachelor of Science degree in Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies program will equip students with the comprehensive knowledge and practical skills to succeed in philanthropic endeavors. Course subjects include: collegiate consuming and giving, nonprofit studies, portfolio development, nonprofit law and governance, and gender, wealth and philanthropy.

Our Department of Horticulture has been recognized nationally for its research programs, its student-centered faculty members and its high rate of employment for graduates. As a horticulture major, you’ll learn how to establish, propagate, harvest and manage fruits, vegetables and ornamental plants. You’ll also learn the principles of landscape design to create and manage aesthetically pleasing environments.

Public relations is an exciting, fast-paced field that combines multiple media-related functions. Public relations professionals help create and sustain a positive image for an organization by coordinating with the media, event planning, writing and market research.

Our Bachelor of Arts in public relations teaches you all elements of the public relations process—from research, planning, communication, and evaluation to communication strategies, media tactics, and the application of public relations in society today. You’ll develop strong skills in ethical reasoning, strategic thinking, and creative problem solving, along with written and oral communication skills. You’ll gain hands-on experiences through our service-learning component, which requires you to work in teams with our community partners.

The Hospitality Management (HOSP) program provides a strong educational foundation and excellent career preparation for students interested in the premium service segment of the hospitality industry. The HOSP curriculum offers a variety of courses and unique experiential learning opportunities designed to prepare our graduates to pursue successful management and/or entrepreneurial opportunities in the hotel/lodging, restaurant, event planning, culinary, country club, foodservice or beverage industries.

The Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRMG) option is designed to prepare students for careers in the premium service segment of the lodging and food service industries. This sector spans both the commercial and non-commercial aspects of the broader hospitality industry and presents itself as a key contributor to the economic wellbeing of the state of Alabama and the nation.
