A Bachelor of Arts in international studies prepares you for work in business, non-profit, foreign and civil service, and government. It is also an excellent foundation for law school or other graduate study. You choose a region of the world to study and then participate in an internship or service learning experience related to that area. International studies coursework emphasizes the communication, collaboration, and discipline specific skills necessary to work in diverse cultural settings.

Our Environmental Science major program is an interdisciplinary degree, incorporating studies such as soil science, physics, chemistry, biology and geology. Environmental solutions also frequently require mathematical expertise as well as specific knowledge of air, water and soil environments. Thus, the program is structured to educate environmental scientists broadly, but with considerable depth and flexibility.

The Department of Biological Science offers three majors leading to the Bachelor of Science degree (Marine Biology; Microbial, Cellular & Molecular Biology; Organismal Biology).  The curricula for these majors are designed to provide students with a solid foundation in biology as well as providing the opportunity for specialization.  All of these majors also provide a strong preparation for further study in graduate programs or in professional schools, including medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine and other allied health fields.

The non-thesis Master of Cybersecurity Engineering positions students to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to protect our nation's systems against cyber attacks. The program will provide graduates with advanced knowledge in computer and network security, digital forensics, advanced operating systems, reverse engineering, and other areas of expertise.

The Hospitality Management (HOSP) program provides a strong educational foundation and excellent career preparation for students interested in the premium service segment of the hospitality industry. The HOSP curriculum offers a variety of courses and unique experiential learning opportunities designed to prepare our graduates to pursue successful management and/or entrepreneurial opportunities in the hotel/lodging, restaurant, event planning, culinary, country club, foodservice or beverage industries.

This program option speaks directly to the Auburn Mission, in that it is designed to service the educational needs of those citizens/students looking to advance their careers in the broad hospitality industry, and culinary fields in particular. Culinary Science is designed to attract students pursuing careers in the commercial, and non-commercial food production and service industry. As is the case both nationally and globally, the culinary field now makes a significant contribution to the socio-economic wellbeing of the state of Alabama and the nation. Interest in the culinary field has continued to grow at an enormous pace with culinary professionals now needed not just in hotel dining facilities and traditional restaurants, but in a variety of settings including the public and private sector, consumer-oriented and institutional. This study option is designed to position Auburn University to keep pace with this vital economic contributor by educating the trained professionals needed to meet the continuing demands of the state’s and nation's ever-developing hospitality industry. The program will underscore the importance of local and sustainable food systems as a means of educating and preparing graduates that will make a meaningful contribution to our planet, industry and global society’s long-term future. In so doing it will concentrate on the technical proficiency, scientific rigor and managerial know-how needed to make this contribution.

Historians enjoy reading, are curious about people, and have a desire to use the past as a lens through which to view the present. Our Bachelor of Arts in history equips you with the ability to ask clear questions, to research the information necessary for a well-constructed answer, to write factually and persuasively, and to think historically.

Our English literature major engages your curiosity and imagination and provides you with tools to critically read works from different periods, genres, and authors. You’ll explore literary and cultural texts, primarily in the British and American traditions. You’ll develop the ability to construct arguments from texts, be conversant in the terms of a particular genre and the historical period, and be able to write using a critical approach.

Our School of Fisheries, Aquaculture & Aquatic Sciences is the one of the world’s premier warm-water fisheries programs. As a student majoring in fisheries, aquaculture and aquatic sciences, you’ll receive a strong foundation in chemistry, mathematics and biology while learning how to apply these subjects to managing fresh and saltwater aquatic resources.

This degree will equip you with an understanding of the principles used in solving problems with aquatic resources and the awareness to provide safe, reliable food through aquaculture production. Graduates of this program are also prepared for veterinary medicine and other professional and graduate schools.

Our Department of Horticulture has been recognized nationally for its research programs, its student-centered faculty members and its high rate of employment for graduates. As a horticulture major, you’ll learn how to establish, propagate, harvest and manage fruits, vegetables and ornamental plants. You’ll also learn the principles of landscape design to create and manage aesthetically pleasing environments.

Emphasis in Nursery and Greenhouse Science
As a student in nursery and greenhouse science major option, you will learn how to manage container nurseries, field nurseries and greenhouses for the production of woody and herbaceous perennial ornamentals, annuals and florist crops.
