The Master’s in College Counseling and Student Affairs program prepares graduate students seeking to enter the workforce as college counselors and employees in student affairs in offices in higher education. The intensive, field-based MA in college counseling and student affairs curriculum includes particular emphasis on preparing students for positions that serve university and community college students on urban campuses with diverse student populations.

Established in 1984 to serve and support Chicago's number one industry, the Manfred Steinfeld undergraduate program is a premier four-year hospitality program in Illinois. Named for Manfred Steinfeld, the program's benefactor and chairman and former CEO of Shelby Williams Industries, the Roosevelt program seeks to produce leaders and innovators in hospitality and tourism management. Sociology, like the other social sciences, focuses on human behavior and what it means to be human in constantly evolving social interactions that are part of personal identity, group behavior, and collective action. What distinguishes sociology is its emphasis on social structure as a means of analyzing and interpreting behavior, and the systematic study of the development, structures, institutions, and patterns of social interaction. A degree in sociology provides students with analytical skills, the ability to design research projects, and real insight into the human condition that can lead to successful careers in nonprofit organizations, social services, public services, education, government, sales, marketing, and administrative management. The BA in Sociology also prepares students for graduate study in sociology, as well as law, psychology, social work, and medicine.

Actuarial science applies probability theory and risk management to the areas of life and health insurance, property and casualty insurance, pension plans, and other employee benefit plans. Risk analysts and actuaries, who evaluate the long-term financial impact of these plans on both the issuing company and the purchaser or beneficiary of the plan, are employed by insurance companies, consulting firms, large corporations and governmental agencies. The major in actuarial science emphasizes the mathematical theory that underlies risk evaluation.

This degree teaches students to use technology to gather, analyze and interpret data, facilitating decision-making. Students will learn methods, tools and algorithms used in modern data analysis and analytics.

Political science is the study of the collective decisions that shape our common fate. Political scientists study topics including the outcome of elections, the acquisition and exercise of power, the causes of war, the design and function of electoral systems; the history of political thought; the adoption and implementation of public policies; the comparative efficacy of political systems around the world; the operation of legal systems, and many more.

The Master's of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) prepares students to help children and adults cope with difficult life events such as physical illness, death of loved ones, and relationship problems or divorce. It also shows students how to diagnose and manage serious mental illnesses and obtain resources and support. The intensive, field-based curriculum prepares every candidate to work democratically with diverse individuals and families. The program satisfies academic requirements for licensure as a professional counselor and clinical professional counselor in the State of Illinois. It also meets the academic requirements for national certification in mental health counseling (CCMHC) and for national counselor certification (NCC).

Music education students at CCPA come from all over the world to experience Chicago and develop their music teaching practice. Students enroll in degree plans with a choral or instrumental focus but all music education majors develop well-rounded knowledge and skills through methods courses in general music, choir, band, and orchestra as well as techniques and conducting courses.
