Computer security is an international challenge affecting everything from social media to the democratic process of voting. But defending against cybersecurity threats requires a holistic approach, and a growing number of jobs require skills in identifying cyber security issues and developing responses that are sensitive to cultural, institutional, and ethical issues.

A degree in cyber intelligence prepares you for a career defending the security of personal privacy, government and military operations, and corporate data, with a well-rounded education that champions critical thinking and problem solving.

We were the first major university to create a separate department for the study of sport and entertainment management in a business curriculum. As a national leader, we continue to offer innovative academic programs to prepare you for your role in this exciting field.

Our challenging coursework will provide you a thorough grounding in the economics, accounting, finance and marketing aspects of the sport and entertainment industries.

Two required internships in your chosen field will allow you to enter the industry with exceptional knowledge and professional preparation. The M.S. degree is an academic research degree, which may be tailored to individual interests and job market needs. This degree requires a minimum of 36 graduate hours and combines real-world problem solving and research skills with other technical, health and related skills to prepare effective environmental health researchers for the public and private sectors. M.S. program graduates are often employed within federal, state and local public health and environmental protection agencies, federal and state research laboratories, contract research laboratories, industry, consulting firms and universities. Our aerospace engineering program provides a strong foundation in engineering science and engineering design as applied to aerospace materials and structures, including their mechanical and aerodynamic characteristics and behaviors. In addition to taking engineering courses, you will work in project groups, acquiring social skills to work in multi-disciplinary environments and learning how to present your work effectively. Through the design and lab work, you’ll gain hands-on, real life experience that will shape you into responsible and innovative aerospace engineers.

Our curriculum provides a strong foundation in the core areas of electrical engineering and prepares you for employment in industry or for graduate school. It integrates the study of engineering and computing and exposes you to the full breadth of electrical engineering with core courses in the major specialty areas. A series of vertically integrated laboratory courses provide hands-on experience in electrical and electronics engineering. Career plan electives allow you to concentrate in a specific area of interest.

You will also have the opportunity to tailor the program to your own interests by choosing from specialized experimental courses or designing your own research program in consultation with our faculty researchers.

Civil engineering is everywhere: the buildings in which we live and work, the roads on which we travel, the water we drink, the bridges we cross. Civil engineering is the planning, design and construction of projects that define our civilization. Civil engineers have built landmarks that now stand as tributes to the profession's creative spirit and ingenuity.

Civil engineers analyze, plan, design, and build structures such as buildings, bridges, dams, tunnels and roads. They create infrastructure systems for personal and mass transportation. Their work contributes to the management of water resources and natural hazard protection. They provide for environmental control and remediation of both the natural and constructed environment. Civil engineers also manage urban planning and public works projects, perform air quality monitoring and plan and design waste collection and handling systems.

South Carolina is blessed with a coast full of beautiful beaches as well as estuaries and tidal areas teeming with marine life. Take advantage of hands-on learning opportunities that allow you to participate in a multitude of research experiences along our precious coast and around the world.

As a marine science major, you will obtain interdisciplinary knowledge in marine science as well as core knowledge in an area of emphasis chosen from among biological oceanography, chemical oceanography, physical oceanography, geological oceanography or coastal resource management and marine policy.

As an international business major, you will develop leading-edge knowledge concerning the practice of global business.  

The department emphasizes the understanding of cross-border relationships — both within the same organization and across multiple organizations — comprising the modern multinational enterprise, as well as the institutional, financial, sociocultural and sociopolitical contexts surrounding the enterprise. International business majors have the opportunity to concentrate on business in Chinese enterprise, the Middle East and North Africa, Latin America or Central Europe.
