The B.F.A. in Theatre with an Emphasis in Design and Technology is well-suited for those who may want to pursue a career in design, stage technology, or stage management. The curriculum is also designed to prepare students who wish to pursue an advanced degree (M.F.A.) in Theatre Design and Technology, for the purpose of entering the fields of Higher Education or Professional Theatre.

Secondary Teacher Education degree programs are offered in partnership with the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters and the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science. These programs are Florida Department of Education (DOE) and Council for Accreditation of Education Preparation (CAEP) approved. The Master of Science with Major in Computer Science (MSCS) prepares students for careers in industry in various positions such as Software Engineer, Software Architect, Big Data Engineer, Data Analytics Engineer, Database Engineer, Mobile Application Engineer, Cybersecurity Engineer, and Senior Application Developer. Students in the program build a foundational background in computer science theory, software development and computer systems, and are exposed to the latest advances in various areas including machine learning, artificial intelligence, data science, advanced programming methodologies, database systems, cybersecurity, cryptography, wireless communications and networking, IoT and smart systems, bioinformatics, multimedia systems, mobile application development, and healthcare informatics.

The Department of Marketing offers programs of study that prepare students for professional careers in the growing fields of brand management, retailing management, digital marketing, social media, advertising, and personal selling and sales management. Applied projects are interwoven with academic coursework to expose students to a range of current marketing trends and strategies. Original research and creative scholarship among department faculty contribute to improvements in both the theory and practice of marketing. Students are prepared to become effective marketing managers in the customer-centered marketplace of tomorrow.

Computer engineering focuses on system, software and hardware aspects of computing, and includes programming and software engineering. Students learn about electronics, logic design, computer design and architecture, microprocessors, design automation, operating systems, and software engineering. Computer engineer's career opportunities are limitless and include working in the computer industry or with companies that integrate computers into more complex products.

The International Business major arms students with the tools to tackle challenges in business while empowering them to contribute and engage in organizations and communities in a global business environment. Program goals are accomplished through an active partnership with the business community while the program continuously enhances the quality and impact of international business education.

Philosophy has a very important role to play in the acquisition of a higher education.  The study of philosophy fosters an appreciation for the most fundamental ideas, questions, and texts that have profoundly shaped our culture.  However, the study of philosophy also lead to the rigorous development of very practical skills, such as critical thinking, clear and precise writing,  analytical skills, persuasive oral communication, and the ability to read and comprehend conceptually challenging texts.  These skills will help students succeed in life and in any career that they choose to pursue after earning their Bachelor's degree.

The Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies is a problem-focused program that emphasizes contemporary cultural concerns while situating these within the broader context of communication and cultural theory. The purpose of the degree is to provide students with the awareness, knowledge, motivation and skills to develop communication strategies to address the problems of a global society, and the emphasis is on all forms of civic engagement. The program examines the strategic role that symbol systems play in constructing meaning in a fast-changing, information-based, media-saturated, and culturally diverse world. Courses examine how meaning informs and persuades individuals, and introduce students to the history and theories of how communication operates in societies. The goal is for students to demonstrate a high level of oral and written communication, critical thinking, and analytical problem-solving skills, and to become active in civic life.

The BPSA degree in the School of Public Administration is ideal for professionals and pre-professionals interested in police, fire, and disaster response practice and administration. The 18 core credit hours and 60 total credit hours provide:

• A professional/ pre-professional degree program for students entering the fields of law enforcement, homeland security, and disaster response;
• Interested students a foundation for continuing in a professionally focused graduate program; and
• An interdisciplinary degree that allows students to combine key areas from several disciplines to graduate with a pre-professional degree.
