Our program sets itself apart by being distinctly Christian — with a plethora of research opportunities. We provide flexible emphases for our applied chemistry major, from computer science or mathematics to business, green chemistry, environmental chemistry and forensic science.

Professional Chemistry
Want to be a chemist ? This path is for you. You'll go beyond the basic principles of chemistry, learning the complex fields of organic, inorganic, physical and analytical chemistry. Plus, you'll have special courses designed for research and intensive specialized and integrated labs.

Explore the dimensions of a boundless discipline. Study some of the physical world’s most inscrutable mysteries and examine the laws of motion and energy inherent in everything we do. Our physics program will feed your curiosity and sharpen your analytical abilities.

Scripture tells us we are “fearfully and wonderfully” made—and few know that better than a physicist! Pretty deep language for something that absolutely rules daily life (like the fact we walk on the ground rather than float hither and yon). Investigate the principles of physics with a high regard for creation’s God-given wonder, complexity, and amazing power.

Physics teaching majors will receive core and specialized professional education in addition to the general education required of secondary and K-12 teacher education students.

Our restorative criminal justice major integrates the values of Christ with a deeper knowledge of crime and justice. Let us help you gain a hands-on understanding of restorative approaches to due process. You'll analyze social and psychological theories of crime and society with our expert faculty. You'll learn with incarcerated students in classes at the Tennessee Prison for Women as part of our nationally-recognized Lipscomb Initiative for Education (LIFE).

Let us teach you a holistic approach to achieving accountability and healing relationships. Within our restorative criminal justice major, you'll study criminal justice practices rather than law enforcement implementation. You'll plan ways to positively address harm caused by illegal actions. By the time you graduate, you'll be uniquely prepared for your career or graduate work in many options including law, social work and theology.

Restorative criminal justice holds that "crime" is a violation of human relationships. It believes that all stakeholders (offender, victims, and community) in the offense should have a voice in the process of making things as right as possible.

Restorative criminal justice does not reject punishment but does embrace a holistic approach to achieving accountability. This interdisciplinary major embraces the holistic approach.

In fact, the U.S. Department of Labor projects that the employment growth of social workers will grow 16 percent from 2016 to 2026. According to the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration, social workers are the nation’s largest group of mental health providers. And, over 40 percent of all disaster mental health volunteers trained by the Red Cross are social workers.

Become skilled in one of the most valuable cultural and economic fields in the U.S. — the production and distribution of motion pictures and television. By studying film production at Lipscomb, you’ll learn the art of storytelling and how to express your original ideas on screen, in an environment that emphasizes collaboration, compassion and care for individuals and communities around the world. Now more than ever, there is a need for professionals who are just, wherever they may be.  We know you want to change the world. So we've created a program to help you build a foundation in justice so you can do exactly that. We know legal change is one of the best ways to effect social change, so we'll make sure you gain a strong understanding of America's legal system. Work with a prominent civil rights attorney in Tuskegee, Alabama. You'll visit Washington, D.C. for an introduction of American law. Learn from real-life experiences with an internship. Take a semester abroad. And later, you'll even travel to five European countries as you learn about law in the global community.
