Interdisciplinary approach

One of our most popular classes, Being Awesome at Life, examines the definition of a good life across cultures and throughout history. Science and Religion take a serious look at scientific and religious claims to find overlaps of agreement.

Other classes cover major world religions and how they relate to fields like ethics, archaeology, philosophy and environmental studies. Adding one of our interdisciplinary minors, like leadership and diversity studies, helps you gain a better understanding of important topics in today’s world.

Your education won’t end in the classroom. Join one of our very active student-run religious life groups. Study abroad through our Global Opportunities program to get a firsthand look at the religions of the world in Europe, Asia, Africa or South America.

The graphic design program at Susquehanna is focused, close-knit, challenging, intense and ultimately very rewarding. Our work is a fixture in regional and national student design competitions, and our best graduates ascend to art director and creative director positions with astonishing regularity. Some of our majors continue their political interests through public service. Recent graduates work for the New York City Office of Management and Budget, Maine House of Representatives, Boston City Council campaign, PA House of Representatives, PA Senate, PA Governor’s Office, New Jersey Assembly and the Snyder County PA Commissioner.

Others work for non-profit corporations in education, human services and health care as lobbyists, data analysts, professors, grant writers and more. Graduates also pursue jobs in insurance, finance, publishing and human resources.

Our students are also ready to attend law school or pursue graduate degrees in public policy, public administration or doctorates in political science.

Master the Spanish language and immerse yourself in the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world.

We’re one of the only universities that requires semester-long study abroad for language majors. Connect with native Spanish speakers in Valencia, Spain; Heredia, Costa Rica; Merida, Mexico; or Havana, Cuba — to name a few.

While abroad, you’ll live with host families, do internships in fields such as health and grant-writing, and take courses in a broad array of disciplines. You will also travel and make new, long-lasting friendships.

Connect fresh audiences to the power of theatre and re-invigorate seasoned participants with new works and exciting approaches to well-known plays.

Learn about theatrical theories, best practices, historical challenges, and the great artists and thinkers of yesterday who make today’s performances meaningful.

Classes range from acting to production and design courses. Combined with history and dramaturgical work, you’ll have a better understanding of human communication, culture and the place theatre has in the world.

A Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction (M.Ed.) degree from Susquehanna will make you a better teacher by deepening your understanding of teaching and learning. In as few as five semesters (34 semester hours), you’ll become a more productive, creative, and reflective educational leader.

With classes in curriculum design, research methods, critical media literacy, and inclusive classroom strategies, you’ll be prepared to lead students and be a resource to peers.
