Exercise science is an interdisciplinary field focused on the study of maintaining and improving the health of patients and clients across the age spectrum. The Exercise Science for Health Professions Program is designed to prepare undergraduate students for entry into a wide variety of disciplines, particularly health professions graduate programs.

The interdisciplinary nature of the program provides a variety of pathways for exercise science students after earning their undergraduate degree. Our curriculum places a high emphas is on comprehensive biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics and anatomy courses, giving students the foundational knowledge required to excel at the graduate level in healthcare professions.

Join the corporate world with a business emphasis

An emphasis in business prepares students for careers in the corporate or small business environment. Graduates will be able to design new systems to meet the needs of the client and integrate new computer technologies as appropriate, to increase the power of existing computer systems.  This is vital to the success of any organization.

To complete a Computer Science degree with a Business Emphasis you must complete seven business emphasis courses in addition to the computer science core courses.

Findlay's graphic design major provides a curriculum focused on the development of visual communication skills through coursework in digital imaging, typography, interactive media, and commercial design. Students also gain experience in marketing and communications.

Program Highlights

• Graphic design majors have a variety of opportunities to participate in internships with local businesses or organizations and with offices on campus. Students also participate in service learning projects in the classroom to design publications for community partners.
• Students in the graphic design major enjoy access to the Mazza Museum, the most diverse collection of original artwork by children's book illustrators in the world. Students attend annual Mazza conferences, interact with nationally recognized award-winning illustrators, complete internships with the museum, and volunteer with monthly educational events.
• Senior graphic design majors participate in capstone coursework that includes career preparation, a senior exhibition, and professionally-oriented individualized work with local clients. Students also have opportunities to participate in juried exhibitions, including the annual University of Findlay Juried Student Art and Design Exhibition at the Lea Gallery.

Animal science/industry allows you to work with animals without a heavy research base, unlike animal science/science careers or veterinary studies.  Industry students learn the science they need to be knowledgeable on the subject, but focus more on:

Our courses offer comprehensive coverage of fundamental principles such as nutrition, breeding, physiology and marketing into complete production and management programs. The structure of industry, enterprise establishment, system of production, production practices, selection criteria and improvement programs are also addressed. 

The goal of the Japanese program at the University of Findlay is to help you develop communication skills that will enable you to pursue a career in virtually any industry with Japanese as a second language. Findlay offers a bachelor's degree in Japanese, a bachelor's degree in multi-age Japanese (grades K-12) with a teaching license.

Experiential Learning
Our instruction strongly emphasizes the functional and practical use of the language as well as education about the Japanese culture. You will be immersed in the language with lessons both inside and outside of the classrooms.  

You will practice your Japanese language skills:

• In class
• On-campus activities with Japanese students
• Activities with the Findlay area Japanese community members
• Study abroad and internship programs in Japan (short visits or up to a year)

There are approximately 350 Japanese speakers in the Findlay area, and you will do various things with them. We also have strong ties with Japan. We are affiliated with some large educational institutions, several universities, companies, and language schools in Japan.   

Every semester, you will find some of our students studying and/or working in Japan. Some of our graduates work in Japan as well as in Japanese companies located in the US. Some of our graduates became teachers of Japanese in the US and teachers of English in Japan.

Global understanding is more important now than ever in our diverse and connected society. The University of Findlay's international studies major combines coursework and experiential education to prepare students for success in virtually any industry in the United States or abroad. With a degree in international studies, you will be prepared to work with diverse populations and pursue careers in a number of areas such as: international business, service organizations based in the U.S., federal service employment, or in non-governmental organizations abroad.
If you're interested in studying or working abroad, working with diverse populations or strengthening a second language and cultural knowledge, the international studies major is perfect for you. We also recommend this major to students who excelled in high school language courses and would like to pursue a career using their language proficiency and cultural knowledge.
