Our program will give you a solid understanding of both practical and conceptual cybersecurity and network technologies, including computer hardware, software, and design issues.

Students take hands-on courses related to networking, network defense, cybersecurity, cyber forensics, mobile device forensics and exploitation, and reverse engineering. Our students are also involved in conducting leading-edge research in cybersecurity, cyber forensics and networking, even as undergraduates.

 Data Analytics

This concentration provides students with a technical awareness of the opportunities needed to enhance business operations. It provides the tools necessary to collect, identify, and understand patterns that allow the organization to make informed decisions consistent with its mission. This is especially true with the advent of Big Data and increasingly sophisticated computing techniques used to mine it. With a specific focus on the application of mathematical statistics to the description, analysis, and forecasting of business data, the concentration features the analysis of data from multiple firm sources such as marketing, finance, human resource management, etc. The R-programming language is a central part of the concentration’s design.

As an international business major at the University of New Haven, you’ll gain a global perspective through interdisciplinary studies in the core principles of accounting, economics, finance, management and marketing. Economics is the study of making choices. It is both a lens and an occupation. As a lens, economics enables us to view, organize, and explain the world around us in a coherent systematic manner. As an occupation, we find its fundamental principles are most often applied in the world of business-although not exclusively. Economics also prepares students for careers in fields as diverse as government service, law, and non-governmental institutions. Importantly, the economics degree offers outstanding preparation for graduate and professional programs.

The University of New Haven’s undergraduate program in economics provides students with the analytical and technical skills that employers value. In addition to the General Education requirements, the B.A. Economics requires 33 credits. The 33-credit program is comprised of 24 credits of courses required for all B.A. Economics majors and 9 credits from one of two concentrations. The Behavioral Economics concentration entails taking a series of more specialized economics courses leading towards the Behavioral Economics focus. Alternatively, a student can choose to retain a more general and broader overview of Economics through the General Economics concentration.

Pick an interdisciplinary concentration
What makes our program in Esports and Gaming unique is its truly interdisciplinary nature. In addition to core classes in businesses, our unique concentrations enable you to take courses in the School of Health Sciences, the Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences, and the Tagliatela College of Engineering.

• Corruption and Gambling Concentration. You will learn to evaluate how competitors are coerced into behaving corruptly and how to explain the effects of organized crime on gambling in esports.
• Game Studies Concentration: You will learn how to develop a game narrative using contemporary gaming techniques and how to analyze games for dimensions of social responsibility.
• Esports Performance and Health Concentration. You will learn to assess health factors that impact esports participants’ overall potential performance and how to implement behavioral strategies that promote health among esports competitors.
