Define your interest in music, media and film production in the one-year Music, Media and Film Foundation Ontario College Certificate program. As a student, you explore career opportunities in the music, media and film industry, and develop foundational skills to prepare you for further post-secondary study in film, radio, television or music industry arts.

In this program, you build fundamental techniques in audio and video production, and apply them within a studio environment. You develop storytelling skills, allowing your message to reach audiences in an influential way. You plan and prepare for further education and the industry, focusing on the academic and professional skills that will help you get there. In this program, you work collaboratively to create media assets, learning the many roles that function together in the music, media and film industry.

This foundational program allows you to build a portfolio that demonstrates your readiness for several related programs, acting as a starting point for further education. Approved by the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario and accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Respiratory Therapy Education, Respiratory Therapy is a three-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma program offered by Algonquin College. The program is well suited for all the students who have strong observational and analytical skills, possess an applied technical aptitude, are able to work effectively under stressful situations and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills while interacting with patients, their families and other members of the healthcare team. 

During the course, the students participate in multiple clinical simulations, learning to apply their theoretical knowledge to clinical practice and promoting critical thinking. Besides, the students also learn how to adapt themselves to situations and concepts to meet the needs of the patients and work in a professional tea, structure in a private or a public setting. 

The graduates of the course of the program can find jobs as staff therapists in hospitals in the pediatric and neonatal intensive care units, emergency departments and cardiopulmonary diagnostic units, etc., or in medical sales, dental offices, research, physicians’ offices and community care. The graduates may also pursue post-graduate studies in areas like cardiopulmonary perfusion, polysomnography and anesthesia assistant. 

Registered respiratory therapists and the graduates who are working in regulated provinces need to be members of their Regulatory College, the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO). The successful completion of the National Alliance of Respiratory Therapy Regulatory Bodies credential exam, conducted by the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care (CBRC), allows the graduates to work in Canada.

Massage Therapy is a three-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma program that prepares students with the required skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to offer safe, ethical and effective care at entry level practice in the profession of massage therapy. The foundation of the program is based on the Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics given by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) and the curriculum focuses on developing in the students the skills of pathophysiology, entrepreneurship, professionalism, empathic responses, anatomy, decision making, massage theory, critical thinking, communication and physiology.  Students develop specialized knowledge, skills and judgment in conducting a systematic client assessment, formulating a comprehensive and clinical impression, developing a specific treatment plan, performing safe, competent, and comprehensive massage therapy and evaluating outcomes.

Endorsed and accredited by the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies, Tourism- Travel Services is a two-year Ontario Diploma program blending on the job training and classroom theory and providing students with opportunities to develop employability skills for a fruitful career in the ever growing travel and tourism industry. Subjects in the curriculum include customized vacation planning, niche and group travel, world tourism geography, sustainability in tourism, social media, marketing, sales, entrepreneurship and customer service excellence. 

The students of the program write the Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) exam to gain the mandatory license. The graduates are also encouraged to apply to the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA) to write the national certification examination to be accredited as a Certified Travel Counsellor (CTC). 

The graduates of the program can seek jobs in the transportation service providers (airlines, rail companies, automobile rental firms, bus operators and cruise lines), travel service providers (agencies-retail and wholesale), government tourist offices, accommodations sector, attractions and tour operators.

Analyze and plan how a brand will be perceived in the marketplace. The three-year Business Administration (Core) Ontario College Advanced Diploma program provides you with essential skills and knowledge for a career in business. This program is the perfect option if you are interested in pursuing a career in business, but are unsure which specialization best fits your interests.

This program has been designed to allow you to explore a variety of business fields before ultimately deciding on a major. In the third semester, take one course from each major to help you understand the various career specializations. During this time, you have the opportunity to meet with upper-level students and program coordinators for guidance. Then you make a selection that is most aligned to your interests.

Your final three semesters match the career or field you`re interested in pursuing. Choose to major in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, International Business, Marketing, or Supply Chain and Operations Management. With all majors, you have the opportunity to network and learn directly from business professionals. The practical and integrated theoretical two-year program is offered in a compressed format of 45 weeks preparing students with the knowledge and the skills required to become professional estheticians in the wellness industry.

The course builds a strong foundation in areas related to body treatments, nail care, skin care, hair removal and the promotion of health and wellbeing and the graduates get employed in resort spas, day spas, cruise ships, cosmetic firms, beauty institutes, salons and health clubs. 
 

The three-year Applied Museum Studies Ontario College Advanced Diploma prepares you with the knowledge and skills to support curatorial and conservation activities in the museum, heritage and cultural sectors.

Graduates receive an Ontario College Certificate in General Arts and Science - One Year, with a concentration in Music Industry Arts. You can enter the workforce and demonstrate that you have well-developed skills and a general understanding in a variety of topics. Completion of this certificate confirms to potential employers that you have the ability to learn at a post-secondary level.

With this certificate, you may also choose to continue your education in Year II of the General Arts and Science Diploma program. After completion of Year II with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher, you can apply for advanced standing at Carleton University or the University of Ottawa.

The one-year Advanced Care Paramedic Ontario College Graduate Certificate program is accredited by EQual Accreditation Canada and adheres to the National Occupation Competency Profile for advanced care paramedic practice. It is designed to train current Primary Care Paramedics (PCP) in all aspects of advanced care paramedicine.

Build on your existing knowledge and skills to develop greater critical-thinking processes, increased leadership qualities, and master advanced skills in respiratory care, cardiac care, pharmacology, trauma care, obstetrics and pediatrics care and medical emergencies.

The program is comprised of three components:

• A didactic and scenario practice portion which is scheduled three days per week for 14 weeks;
• One hospital clinical practicum which is approximately 200 hours spread over the second and third semesters; and
• A preceptorship (672 hours paramedic practicum) which is scheduled over a 17-week period. Students must take a comprehensive written examination and oral board examination with the program medical director at the end of the practicum.

The authority to practice as an advanced care paramedic student (ACP) is contingent on being in good standing with a Paramedic Service (if applicable) and upon certification by a medical director.
