What will I learn?
Plant Science will give you the knowledge and skills to research and investigate real-world problems associated with food security, quality and wellness. You’ll also dive into contemporary issues related to environmental integrity, biotechnology, plant breeding, sustainable crop production and more.

You will learn both the theory and practices related to the study of plants and their production. Your studies may lead you to expertise in many sub-disciplines such as fruit, vegetable, ornamental or field crops. You may focus on the genetics or physiology of plants or learn how to manage different types of farming systems.

In your first year of study, you’ll take foundation-building science courses in biology, chemistry, calculus and agricultural ecosystems and microeconomics. In your upper years you’ll study more in-depth subjects such as structural botany, entomology, plant pathology and soil fertility and nutrients. Students can tailor their degree to their personal interests by choosing from numerous electives.  

The program also includes production courses which provide students with opportunities to gain knowledge and skills focused on areas of production such as greenhouse and floriculture, forages and cover crops, organic field crop management plus many others. European Studies is a multi-disciplinary program that enables understudies to take courses all through the workforce of Arts and Social Sciences. Our understudies get a wide base ever, language, governmental issues, and culture, and go on to a wide assortment of professions and graduate projects.

Dalhousie's Agricultural Business program is where science meets business, bringing the best of both worlds together. At the Agricultural Campus in Truro, N.S., you'll experience a hands-on scientific education with practical work in the lab and in the field.

What will I learn?
Agricultural Business introduces current issues, challenges and opportunities in the agricultural and related sectors to prepare you for a rewarding career. Courses cover business management, natural science and agriculture, so you can approach these industries with a well-rounded foundation of essential knowledge.

The Electrical and Computer Engineering undergraduate program is divided into two divisions, the lower division for the first two years and the upper division for the remaining two or two years and eight months.  A student may apply for and enter the lower division at Dalhousie University or at any of the Associated Universities in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. The Associated Universities are Acadia University, Cape Breton University, St. Francis Xavier University, Saint Mary's University, and the University of Prince Edward Island. Once a student completes the studies in the lower division, he/she will obtain the Diploma of Engineering. Then he/she may apply for and enter the upper division either in the non co-op stream which takes two years to complete or in the co-op stream which takes two years and eight months to complete. The co-op stream requires a student to take at least three terms to work in industry while registering in the Electrical and Computer Engineering undergraduate program; as a result, a non co-op student will take two years to complete the upper division while a co-op student takes two years and eight months to complete. Once a student completes the upper division, he/she will receive the Degree of Bachelor in Engineering with or without the co-op designation accordingly. The tables below summarize the schedules of electrical and computer engineering program. A student needs to select and register one of the program schedules once he/she enters the upper division. Note that although Dalhousie University has a co-op office to help find the co-op work, not all the students can find the job placements for their work terms all the time. If this happens, a student registering with the co-op program may have to switch back to the non co-op program.  In addition, this Department offers the accredited Electrical Engineering Bachelor degree program with the curriculum options of either electrical or computer engineering. This Department does not offer a separate accredited computer engineering Bachelor degree program.

This program is unique in Canada, accepting only 40 students each year so we can develop a small, strong, well-rounded group of health promotion specialists. You'll work together in the program and in the community upon graduation.

What will I learn?
The Health Promotion program offers you the chance to take a variety of unique courses that will prepare you for a successful career. In first year you’ll take a broad range of introductory courses in the School of Health and Human Performance as well as from different departments including Computer Science, Statistics, Anatomy, Sociology, and Physiology.

After your first year you'll choose between entering the Community Health Promotion stream or the Research and Policy stream. In your final year you'll complete a 14-week internship; taking you out of the classroom and providing you with hands-on work experience.

Studying Integrated Environmental Management at Dalhousie's Agricultural Campus in Truro, N.S. will offer you training in green science and technology. Studying Integrated Environmental Management at Dalhousie means you’ll learn about real-world problems and how to solve them. First-year students begin by building a foundation in the core sciences of agriculture, biology, chemistry and calculus. In upper years, you’ll study technologies associated with biological and environmental systems as they apply to fiber fuel and food. Plus, you’ll apply your knowledge to solve industry-related problems.

Courses cover a wide variety of topics including agriculture, water and food processing systems, mechanics of materials, structures and their environment, renewable energy and engineering measurements and controls. You can also choose from numerous electives to tailor your degree to your interests.
