Students in this program develop a range of alternative dispute resolution, conflict analysis and conflict communication skills. Our graduates are prepared to negotiate and resolve conflict, in both formal and informal situations, within businesses, communities and families. This program has the unique advantage of providing a highly relevant experiential learning opportunity to students as they run their own conflict resolution service on campus. This hands-on practice can enhance on-the-job effectiveness and ensure our students are ready to handle diverse dispute scenarios, giving our graduates a competitive edge. This program is approved by ADRIO and OAFM, and 92 per cent of our students said the program gave them knowledge and skills that will be useful in their future career.

This program is approved by the ADR Institute of Ontario (ADRIO) and students in the program receive a 16-month student membership with ADRIO. This program is also approved by the Ontario Association for Family Mediation (OAFM).

In this program, you will develop knowledge of business processes and management tools to develop demand forecasts; evaluate suppliers’ capabilities to ethically source purchased goods and services; use technology, including SAP® and Microsoft Excel/Project; and develop supply chain plans and schedules to efficiently produce goods or services that meet quality expectations and the needs of the global markets. You will also learn industry-standard practices including Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, Just-in-Time, Lean Principles, and Project Management. Led by knowledgeable faculty with strong ties to industry, this program also provides many opportunities for real-world learning experiences through either field placement or co-op work terms. You will also be able to earn industry credentials, including the SAP-UA Student Recognition Award and Microsoft Office Specialist Certification in Excel, to help you stand out to employers in a competitive market.

Supply chain and operations management is the core functional area of any business. Supply chain and operations managers obtain, develop and manage the resources required to deliver goods and services to clients. This includes contributing to key decisions involving:

• Purchasing/Procurement

• Facilities management
• Inventory management
• Transportation, distribution and logistics

Graduates are well-positioned to pursue a variety of professional accreditations with professional organizations including:

• Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) - Certified in Production and Inventory Management
• Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) - Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation
• Project Management Institute (PMI) – Certified Associate in Project Management

After completing one year of business study, you may choose to graduate with a certificate in Business Fundamentals. After two years of study, you may choose to graduate with a diploma in Supply Chain and Operations – Business.

Students will have two options to gain valuable skills in the workforce and will either complete a field placement or a co-operative education (co-op) experience. Students completing the field placement will participate in an unpaid work placement completed during semester 6. Students who qualify for the co-op experience will complete a four-month paid work experience in between second and third year of their program.

Co-operative education (co-op)

The best way to succeed in your field is to immerse yourself in it! Co-op is an excellent way to build your professional network, explore career paths and apply in-class teachings to real work situations. Co-op is a model of education that integrates academic learning with workplace learning in fields relevant to our students’ academic and personal goals. Similar to an academic course, work terms are a mandatory component to this form of experiential learning.

Students in the Business Administration – Supply Chain and Operations Management Advanced Diploma program will be invited to apply to the co-op option during their first year of study. Entrance to the co-op option is limited and the processes for securing a work term are competitive.  Students who qualify for co-op will be eligible to complete a four-month, paid work term between the second and third years of their program. Students interested in co-op may also apply to transfer to the co-op internship option of their program which would extend the work integrated learning opportunity to 4 consecutive work terms.

Supports are available through the Co-op office to assist students with securing their work terms. In addition, the Co-op office is in contact with co-op students and their employers during the work terms to help with any questions. Upon completing the work term, co-op students return to campus to complete their final two academic semesters of the program before graduating.

This challenging 3D and 2D digital animation program focuses on character performance and storytelling, supported by modelling and rigging, cinematics, lighting, surfacing, and design. The healthcare industry in Canada and around the world is growing rapidly. To help meet the demand, health care has turned to new and innovative medical technologies to improve diagnosis, monitoring and treatment. In doing so, healthcare providers have become dependent on the technology to function properly, to be available and to be managed in a cost-effective and efficient manner by qualified biomedical engineering technologists. As a graduate of this program, your skill set will include the ability to assess current and innovative medical technology, as well as purchase, install, calibrate, maintain and manage the life-cycle of critical medical equipment. Biomedical engineering technologists are essential members of any healthcare team because they have these skills.

Human resources (HR) professionals work in partnership with business managers to take care of the company’s largest asset – its employees. To help a business run, HR staff provide advice to department supervisors on a range of employee relations issues; design and deliver a range of programs and services focused on individual and team needs; and create company policies that support and promote a workplace culture based on fairness, equity and personal growth. You will acquire skills in the effective use of industry-standard software and learn from professors who are connected to industry. As a student, you will have the opportunity to interact directly with industry professionals and to participate in hands-on learning opportunities.

This two-year diploma program includes courses that qualify towards the academic component of either the Certified Human Resources Professional Designation (CHRP) designation granted by the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA). Additional courses are required to meet the full academic component of these professional certifications.

This two-semester pathway is designed for individuals interested in pursuing various science and engineering programs at Ontario Tech University (Ontario Tech). This option offers opportunities to refine essential skills and develop foundational knowledge in the areas of science, mathematics, and communication, which are necessary for admission into future post-secondary programs. Some General Arts and Science courses are also transferable to other post-secondary programs. This pathway has the added benefit of helping students become better acquainted with post-secondary life, workload, and expectations.
