Overview

Business - Marketing is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program. This program provides students with a strong foundation to gain entry to a variety of marketing career paths. Courses cover topics such as customer analysis, segmentation, and targeting; integrated marketing communications; pricing and distribution strategies; and product and service development and management. Hands-on activities include market research studies, advertising campaigns, sales and business plans - many of these activities involving live clients from industry. Students learn to use current software programs, including presentation, spreadsheet, graphic design and publishing applications. Graduates receive full credit toward a credential with the Canadian Institute of Marketing and earn credits towards the Certified Sales Professional designation offered by the Canadian Professional Sales Association. Graduates who meet admission requirements are eligible for transfer to the Business Administration - Marketing Advanced Diploma program.

This multidisciplinary program shall expose students to aspects of electromechanical systems. Traditionally, similar programs of study have been found in the electrical/electronic disciplines. Graduates from these programs will also gain knowledge of the mechanical aspects of a system, such as the ability to read mechanical prints, understand tolerances, as well as understand the mechanical nuances of a system.

This program will expose students to both electrical and mechanical principles, allowing graduates from the program to be capable of analyzing, modifying, maintaining and repairing electromechanical systems. As such, the focus of the program shall be concurrent engineering with respect to products and processes. Students shall also be exposed to project management and quality systems. The program will culminate in a 15-week capstone project course where students shall be able to apply their knowledge and document it according to current industry practice.

Co-operative Education
In order to be eligible for co-op, students must maintain a 2.0 GPA and be academically complete at the commencement of their co-op work term.
This is a two-year Co-operative Education program delivered over three years due to the co-op pattern. This innovative four-year honours baccalaureate program offers students studies in early childhood development, early childhood pedagogy, human relationships, curriculum development and leadership skills, developing the necessary skills to engage as pedagogical leaders in a diverse range of roles in the evolving disciplines within early childhood education and care.  A key component of this degree is the applied learning that takes place in ideal sized classrooms, with a focus on case studies, research, three field placements, that culminates in one fourteen-week Internship between third and fourth year.  International internships are offered on a limited basis for qualifying students. Fashion Design is a three year co-operative Ontario College Advanced Diploma program providing professional career-directed training in the development, production management and marketing of apparel design. Through classroom theory, lecture, lab work, field trips and work term experience, skills are applied. Networking with industry professionals promotes future employment opportunities. Emphasis is placed on design analysis, apparel manufacturing and technology, and design communications and marketing.   • Recognize the interrelationships among designers, manufacturers, merchandisers and consumers in the domestic and international marketplace
  • Create original designs using flat pattern and draping techniques that incorporate design principles and address fitting variations for women's wear
  • Use state of the art manufacturing computer technology in the Apparel development and design process
  • Produce originally designed apparel that demonstrates an understanding of raw materials, colours, silhouettes, textures, and techniques, and meets industry standards
  • Source and select raw material, illustrate concepts, apply production specification and costing information, and develop patterns to produce apparel that reflects quality standards
  • Analyze the organizational functions, systems and logistics in the manufacturing and marketing of apparel
  • Apply business principles that relate to launching products, starting up a new business and planning, organizing and running a special event
  • Adapt global fashion trends from the historical, current, and future perspective to produce salable designs for consumers
  • Produce and present work that meets the standards, ethics and practices of the domestic and global fashion industry
  • Apply visual communication skills that allow for creative product development, design collaboration and professional portfolio development
