This program provides students with an understanding of the practical science of biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics. It is a three-year, seven level program with up to 16 months of paid co-op experience. The electrical engineering technology program will prepare graduates for jobs in growth areas of automation, network communications, electrical utilities/protection, process control, electronics, and embedded systems. Students will study electrical system design, automation, power generation/distribution, and develop practical skills. Graduates will be skilled in AutoCAD, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, PLCs, motors, electronics, programming, and industrial automation. Research and Evaluation (Co-Op) is an Ontario College Graduate Certificate program that supports students and professionals in developing sought-after research and program evaluation skills. Program evaluation in Canada is an expanding industry in terms of both its general use and the diversity of contexts in which it is applied. Students learn diverse social science research methods and apply them with the aim of program evaluation and optimization. This program blends theory with hands-on application of theoretical principles delivered through course work and field practicum.  Students in this program will develop their knowledge and professional skills in areas such as child development and best practices in early childhood; the early childhood educator's role and responsibilities; the importance of play in children's learning; family involvement and curriculum design and implementation.

This two-year professional program is designed to provide students with extensive practical understanding and knowledge to perform administrative support in a wide variety of medical environments.  The focus will be on medical terminology and transcription, medical billing, patient management, medical office procedures, medical ethics and research.  The emphasis will be on interpersonal, communication, organizational, technical, and problem-solving skills applied to enhance the effective operation of the medical environment.

Expert training in computerized medical records systems, billing systems and other office equipment technology applications will be combined with analytical and multitasking strategies to facilitate scheduling, decision making, co-ordination and task completion.  Utilizing these skills, students will be capable of overseeing a variety of medical office environments.  Researching, developing, and presenting accurate medical documentation, correspondence and reports will be emphasized.

The Fire Inspection and Fire Safety Education program is an Ontario College Advanced Diploma that prepares graduates to enter the fire service in the field of fire prevention.

The program provides a foundation in fire science and fire mathematics. It also provides comprehensive coverage of relevant codes and legislation (e.g., Ontario Fire Code and the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, the Ontario Building Code and the Building Code Act).

The core vocational curriculum is aligned with several professional credentials offered by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA): Fire Inspector I and II, Fire and Life Safety Educator I and II, and Public Information Officer. Students will also graduate with the communication skills and interpersonal skills they need to function as leaders in the fire service and in the community.

Students are also prepared to write the Canadian Securities Course® and Life Licensing Qualification Program examinations as prerequisites to securities and life insurance licensing. Students will also have completed the Mutual Funds Licensing course.

The graduate has reliably demonstrated the ability to

  • Process and maintain financial records in compliance with relevant policies, procedures and regulations for individuals and/or organizations.
  • Prepare and present financial information in compliance with relevant legislation and regulations for individuals and/or organizations.
  • Generate financial reports for individuals and/or organizations by applying financial mathematics and statistics.
  • Contribute to the development and the implementation of a financial plan to meet individuals' and/or organizations' needs and objectives.
  • Contribute to the development and the implementation of marketing strategies to promote financial products and services and to enhance customer service.
  • Develop and implement strategies to establish and maintain professional networking and business relationships in the finance sector.
  • Analyze, within a Canadian context, the impact of economic variables, legislation, ethics, technology and the environment on individuals' and/or organizations' operations.
  • Develop and implement ongoing strategies for personal and professional development, highlighting ethics, values and standards in the finance sector.
