Students safely set-up and operate standard machine tools and complex machining equipment, such as CNC lathes and mills. Knowledge and skills learned are used to repair or manufacture components, assist with design of jigs, fixtures, tools, moulds and dies and perform troubleshooting to enact repairs on production tooling. Students use accurate testing methods to ensure accuracy of manufactured components.

This program is designed to prepare students for exciting employment opportunities in the golf sector of the hospitality industry. Theoretical concepts taught in the classroom are blended with practical learning opportunities gained through exposure to various golf facilities in North America. Students are exposed to all aspects of golf operations from turf care and maintenance to the operation of retail outlets and golf event planning. Students also gain professional and entrepreneurial skills for industry and self-employment, as well as real life experience through participation in a work term and extensive field trips to golf courses in Canada and the U.S. 

Big Data allows users to visualize past, present, and future patterns by linking and presenting information in meaningful ways. Data Analytics offers deeper insight into the meaning of data sets by telling the story behind the information. This enables stakeholders to make more informed decisions, predict trends and better understand the needs and sentiments of customers. This program provides students with a unique blend of theoretical knowledge and applied skills. Students learn how to collect, curate, manipulate, encode, and store data sets so they can be analyzed and mined in such a way that they can be reused and repurposed to solve challenges that don't yet exist.

Events can be used to stimulate economies, develop community awareness, increase public involvement, improve quality of life, raise funds and market products. Managing a successful event of any size requires extensive know-how and planning. In Georgian's Event Management program, students gain the skills and experience to prepare them for an exciting career in a fast-paced industry that relies on client satisfaction. The curriculum, designed by industry professionals,enables students to explore current trends and technologies that drive the industry. Students have an opportunity to gain hands-on experience planning, marketing, executing and evaluating events. By the end of the program, they are equipped with the knowledge, skill, and practical experience to find employment in the event industry.

Graduates of this program will be prepared for exciting careers in the field of business. Students will develop the skills to research, analyze, and manage many aspects of business. Graduates will gain specialized career expertise, technical knowledge and skills, as well as practical experience that will enable them to start or further their specific career in business. Business skills obtained in this program will enhance graduate employability and the individual’s long-term opportunities for advancement.

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) computing paradigm radically changes the functionality and capabilities of computer systems. This greatly increases the possibilities of what businesses can do with this exciting new technology and is causing disruption across all industry sectors. Artificial Intelligence systems can think, learn and take self-directed action in order to maximize the chance of successfully achieving a goal without having to be explicitly programmed or human intervention.

This program provides students with the necessary background to become Artificial Intelligence (AI) system designers, programmers, implementers, or machine learning analysts. With a strong focus on applied skills, students learn how to design and implement supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement learning solutions for a variety of situations and solve AI challenges for a diverse set of industries. 

Advanced study in AI infrastructure, architecture, machine learning frameworks, reinforcement learning, neural networks, vision system, conversational AI and deep learning help students understand how to select, configure and apply the right technology tools to build the correct AI solution to solve a given challenge.

Practical Experience:
Co-operative Education is a mandatory component of all Co-op programs at Georgian College; it has been designed as a process by which students integrate their academic education with work experience related to their programs of study. This integration affects much more than simply earning a salary, including the adjustment to the work environment and the development of professionalism. It also reinforces skills and theory learned during academic semesters, develops professional contacts, job knowledge and career path, improves human relations and communication skills, and promotes personal maturity and financial independence.

Students are requested to register, attend and participate in their scheduled co-operative education classes. These classes are scheduled for all first year students and are expected to be completed in order for students to proceed successfully to their first co-op work experiences. The complexity of industry's labour and entrepreneurial needs requires managers who can work with in a variety of settings and in cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams. This program fills that need by providing project management training to candidates who require project management skills to ensure new ventures have potential for successful delivery. The program covers technical, leadership, business, and strategic management subjects with an emphasis on understanding and managing change as applied to project management.

This program is intended for students who wish to develop a strong educational and experiential base in business. Students acquire skills in acquisitions analysis, market research, selling, networking, financial analysis and planning, various computer applications and systems, social entrepreneurship development, human resource planning and management. Students also develop skills to integrate the whole area of business principles and practices in order to successfully operate and manage a business.

This program is particularly appropriate for students whose goal is to enter a family business, start their own business, or enter employment in a small business. One of the key experiential outcomes is the research, development and presentation of a complete business plan for a new enterprise.

This program carefully balances theory and practice and parallels the two year Hospitality Management - Hotel and Resort program. The unique benefits of this program are the opportunity over 1000 hours of paid work experience, extensive experiential learning, and a strong student-centred learning environment. This program delivers innovative curriculum and develops employability and strategic management skills within the pillars of the hospitality industry:
