This two-year Computer Systems Technician diploma program offers you the skills and knowledge needed to meet the challenges of the ever-changing field of information technology administration. In Seneca’s modern labs, you will enhance your abilities by completing practical, hands-on training in networking, operating systems, security and cloud computing.

Your studies will teach you to design and implement wireless, local/wide area and software-defined networks; how to work with and configure open source and proprietary operating systems; and how to work on premises and in the cloud taking you into the future of IT administration.

Optional Co-op

Eligibility for participation does not guarantee a work position will be secured. Additional fees are required for those participating in the optional work term stream regardless of success in securing a work position.

In this two-year diploma program, you will learn to use the latest computer software to assist in the manufacturing of production tools. You will learn and gain valuable skills in conventional manufacturing technologies, computer production and design along with prototyping techniques and quality control. You will have the opportunity to experience the practical production considerations of tool design as you gain experience in a fully equipped machining lab.

Key topics of study include: statistics needed for analytics, programming languages for data analysis, security and privacy for the field of business analytics, data predictive analytics and leadership in the business environment.

Work Experience
Mandatory Degree Co-op

Students must be in good standing and meet all identified requirements prior to participating in the work experience. The successful completion of two co-op work terms is required for graduation. Eligibility for participation does not guarantee that a work position will be secured. The Honours Bachelor of Data Science and Analytics program is the first-of-its-kind in Ontario. This four-year degree program was designed to meet the growing need for data-driven business solutions. You will learn to identify and interpret data using algorithms and acquire skills to draw meaningful conclusions. Your knowledge will be enhanced through theory and applied learning with the help of case studies, guest speakers and a co-op work experience. Your studies will include computer drafting, municipal and building practices, material testing and field surveying. At the completion of your first year, you will have the option to transfer to the Civil Engineering Technology program (requires a grade of C or better in Strength of Materials).

As you begin your studies with a common first semester, you can specialize in hotel and restaurant service or wedding and conference planning. Throughout the program, you will earn industry-recognized certifications that are built into the coursework to enhance your resumé, ensuring you graduate job-ready.

This eight-month graduate certificate program prepares you for careers in project development and management in both environmental and civil engineering industries. Your studies will encompass all aspects of project management, from the competitive bid process to scheduling, risk management and the closing of projects. During the second semester, you will gain valuable industry experience under the guidance of a mentor.

This program will prepare you to design, build, implement and maintain complex computer and software solutions that are efficient, reliable and secure. The degree’s emphasis is on artificial intelligence (AI) in solving software engineering problems. Courses focus on software engineering criteria in the areas of mathematics, natural sciences, engineering design and engineering science.  

Your studies will include two mandatory, co-operative, four-month work-integrated learning experiences — one between semesters 6 and 7 and another between semesters 7 and 8. In your final year of the program, you will choose from Professional Option courses such as robotics, parallel programming and computer vision. You will also undertake a substantial industry-driven group project.

This program will develop your skills in leadership and innovative service models, digital management, predictive analytics and measurements, as well as live-data service with an intimate view of customer knowledge for the hospitality industry.
