Professors in this program also teach in Sheridan’s kinesiology degree and have real-world experience working with clients in many capacities — including clinical exercise rehab, chronic disease prevention and management, injury rehab, high performance, and strength and conditioning. An Environmental Control graduate certificate from Sheridan offers quick entry into this rapidly expanding field for graduates from a traditional science, engineering or technology discipline.

• The Environmental Control program builds on existing knowledge to develop the specialized expertise and skills needed by employers in the environmental sector.
• Environmental Control students with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher are eligible to apply for a four-month, paid co-op placement providing valuable work experience.
• After graduation and the completion of relevant work and course experience, you can apply for Canadian Environmental Practitioner (CEP) certification.
• Environmental Control graduate certificate program classes are held at the Davis Campus in Brampton, Ontario.

Working both in the classroom and in the shop, you'll get practical, hands-on experience in electrical fundamentals. In just eight months you can master the basic skills you need to become an electrical apprentice. Your electrical apprenticeship
To prepare for an electrical apprenticeship, you'll gain instruction in:

Further education
After earning your Electrical Techniques certificate, you can continue your education in related Electromechanical Technician and Technology programs at Sheridan. Advanced standing will be granted for equivalent courses.

With so many people seeking plumbing apprenticeships in Ontario, two years of education can push you to the front of the line. In the second year of Sheridan’s Plumbing Technician program, you’ll learn advanced concepts that can save you hundreds of classroom hours during an apprenticeship. You’ll also put your new skills and knowledge to work in a field placement.

Earn Your Gas Technician 3 License
Plumbers are in high demand these days, and so are gas technicians. No other plumbing college program in the province provides gas technician training approved by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA). Once you successfully complete your G3 gas technician courses, you’ll be qualified to hook up furnaces, water heaters and other gas-fired appliances.

Sheridan's Chemical Engineering Technology advanced diploma offers education in both lab and industry areas, but stands out for its emphasis on true chemical engineering. Students in this program may apply to the co-op program during their third academic semester. Enrolment in the co-op program is limited through an additional co-op application process that takes place during second year. Students in the co-op program are eligible to complete three co-op work terms prior to graduation. Co-operative Education is a form of work-integrated learning that links classroom learning with paid or unpaid work experience within a professional environment. Co-op work terms are related specifically to the academic studies of each student. The work terms provide an opportunity to learn by doing. You’ll apply theory to practice, develop a meaningful view of the working world, and cultivate an awareness of yourself as a professional.

Stand out from the field as a computer engineering technologist! Sheridan’s advanced diploma program builds on the two-year Computer Engineering Technician diploma by teaching you how to integrate software and hardware components. When you graduate, you’ll know how to design, build, test, implement and maintain embedded devices, computer applications and network systems.

Demonstrate your skills through a capstone project and co-op
Prove yourself to employers before you graduate! In your third year of studies, you’ll put your expertise to work in a capstone project that will be showcased to industry. You’ll also have the option of a three-term co-op placement, allowing you to graduate with one year of work experience. Some of our past students have secured employment as a result of co-op participation.

Work towards your degree or other certifications
When you graduate, you’ll have completed all academic requirements for professional certification with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists. You may also be able to transfer into the third year of degree programs at various universities and colleges, including Sheridan’s engineering and applied computing degrees (some bridge courses may be required).

Sheridan’s Practical Nursing program is your first step to becoming a Registered Practical Nurse in Ontario
Sheridan's four-semester Practical Nursing diploma program is approved (Category 1) by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). When you graduate from this program, you'll be eligible to apply to take the Canadian Practical Nursing Registration Examination (CPNRE). When you’ve successfully completed the CPNRE, you’ll be issued a license to practice as a Registered Practical Nurse in Ontario.

Prepare for a career as a practical nurse

In this program, you’ll learn to:

• Help clients with nutrition, elimination, medication, safety, ambulation and hygiene.

Sheridan’s Veterinary Technician program prepares you to join a professional team in a veterinary medical setting
Outstanding career preparation
This program is a pathway to a rewarding career working with animals in a medical capacity. You’ll learn from Registered Veterinary Technicians and Veterinarians, and apply your learning with a field placement in a veterinary clinic.

Accredited by the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians, you’ll be able to sit for the Veterinary Technician National Exam when you graduate.
A humane approach
We strongly believe in a humane and caring approach to veterinary education, so we replace the use of live animals with manikins for teaching purposes whenever possible. Using manikins, you'll fine-tune your skill dexterity in procedures ranging from bandaging to catheter placement and intubation. You will also apply your learning to live animals while in field placement each semester.
