TWU and Belhaven University’s Dual Degree program is a rare opportunity to earn two master’s degrees at once in less time and at a lower cost than if taken individually.

The Dual Degree program gives you twice the opportunity to build on your IT and leadership skills with the unique chance to graduate with TWU’s Master of Arts in Leadership and Belhaven University’s Master of Science in Information Technology Management.

TWU (Canada) and Belhaven (USA), both accredited and respected North American faith-based universities, have created a merged program on the beautiful TWU campus in British Columbia. Complete two master’s degrees with fewer courses in as little as 20 months, and you’ll spend 30% less than if you were to take the two master’s degrees separately.

The Dual Degree program has additional benefits for international students:

• Eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) in Canada
• Significantly increased chances of successfully applying for permanent residency (PR within the PGWP timeframe after graduation)

Program Delivery
Courses will be provided by both universities with a unique hybrid delivery where students will take TWU courses in person at the Langley or Richmond university campus and Belhaven courses online. Both universities will transfer nine credits into each other’s master’s degree programs saving students time, coursework, and cost—effectively removing the need for six courses. This will allow for the TWU/Belhaven degrees to both be completed in just 20 months. The TWU learning environment will meet all necessary Canadian requirements for students’ immediate study and post-graduation work permits (PGWP).

With a faculty of dedicated and experienced professionals, our Philosophy program aims to challenge and improve your logical and critical-thinking skills.

You will learn about historic thinkers and influential writings that have shaped the world, while creatively engaging in solving some of the most significant problems facing contemporary culture. You will develop the skills to understand and evaluate ideas. Through our philosophy courses, you will refine your perspectives on the importance of ethics, how humans think, and the need to think consistently and clearly. A Philosophy degree prepares you for many career opportunities including law, business, and government.

Students who graduate form the Kinesiology Stream within the School of Human Kinetics, have many professional opportunities including membership in BCAK (British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists), certification as fitness leaders, personal trainers, performance coaches and advancement into further studies in health, medicine, physiotherapy, exercise physiology, and more.

Within the Kinesiology Stream, there is an opportunity for students to specialize in strength and conditioning. This ‘specialization’ is recognized through the National Strength and Condtioning Association (NSCA) as an ‘Approved Educational Program (one of only 3 in Canada). Throughout the Kinesiology program, students are also prepared to write NSCA certification exams for CSCS – Certified Strength & Condtioning Specialist and CPT – Certified Personal Trainer.

The video game industry is massive and global, earning over $40 billion in the US alone last year. Market trends show it will continue to be a major employer of well-paid, highly skilled professionals.

Our unique Game Development program is unlike any other program. You will gain the technical skills you need to develop video games and knowledge about the entrepreneurial aspects of the business—all while gaining experience and developing your specialization in a range of team-based activities.

Beginning as early as your second year, you will work on three intensive projects to create and market video games. As in the industry, you will work within an entrepreneurial and interdisciplinary team environment to drive the projects from concept stage to promotion - creating business models and monitoring costs and revenues. In addition to building your portfolio through experiential learning, TWU’s liberal arts core and focus on holistic education will equip you to be a valuable contributor and leader in your field.

A geography degree offers students the opportunity to tackle complex human and environmental problems with a skill set that emphasizes a combination of knowledge-building, critical thinking, informed problem solving, interdisciplinary learning, geospatial technologies and analysis, and hands-on solutions to positively impact people’s quality of life and their environments.

Geographers work in a wide array of fields including community development and missions, urban and regional planning, population and statistical analysis, geographic information systems, computerized mapping and remote sensing, business, retail analysis and market research, environmental assessment and resource conservation, geophysical analysis, and natural science research. Graduates with geography degrees are in high demand. Significant employment opportunities exist within government, teaching, business, private sector consulting, and in non-governmental/non-profit organization. TWU’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences offers a multidisciplinary major in European Studies for students interested in Europe’s social, economic, political, and spiritual aspects. It’s a stimulating interdisciplinary research environment for both faculty and students, promoting academic excellence in research, publications, and teaching on European issues. There are numerous travel study opportunities in places such as London, Geneva, Rome, and Paris. The European Studies major offers three streams of study: language, history, and English literature and fine arts.
