The MA in Leadership degrees are offered with two foundational curriculum themes – Transformational Servant Leadership and Values-Based Leadership. The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Acting is designed to train professional actors. Even more than that, theatre training is great training for life. It informs your relationships, makes you an engaging public speaker, teaches teamwork, and invites you to discover yourself and your story.

Chemistry is known as the central science, because it interacts with all other sciences, and it explains the world around us.

A degree in chemistry can lead to a career in environmental science, nanotechnology, materials chemistry, sustainable and green chemistry, biotechnology, or a medical discipline.

Through our degree program, you will acquire theoretical principles and the laboratory skills you need for a career in chemistry, or a related career in which chemistry is an asset or requirement. As part of your chemistry studies, you may make aspirin in your introductory chemistry lab or test the pond water for compounds important in water quality.

Whether learning how to synthesize molecules, solving molecular structures, understanding the physical basis of chemical bonding, or understanding how a metal works when forming a mineral structure or in a catalytic biological enzyme, each class offers key principles and real-world applications. You will be trained by faculty who are experts in their individual fields and eager to share that expertise by mentoring students.

As a History student at TWU, you’ll become aware of the processes of change and the development of peoples, institutions, environments, and ideas over time.

Awareness of history is a prerequisite for informed citizenship and for understanding how to live as a person of faith in the world. Furthermore, government and business employers are becoming more concerned about understanding political issues, social problems, and public attitudes. Knowledgeable and thoughtful historians can be effective leaders in gaining and sharing an understanding of culture and, thus, making informed decisions.

TWU’s Laurentian Leadership Centre in Ottawa gives you an opportunity to study Canada’s history while also completing an internship that enables you to apply your historical skills in a government or industry setting.

Examining the deeper motivations of human behaviour and understanding how you can impact people’s lives is part of the dynamic field of psychology.

Through systematic observation and research in our Psychology program, you will gain an understanding of human experience. As a student, you will explore all aspects of human behaviour and the thoughts, feelings, and motivations that underlie that behaviour, helping you to better understand people and how you can positively influence them.

Using a Christian worldview as the basis of interpretation, faculty members encourage you to investigate principles derived from research that apply to areas such as work, love, leisure, family, sexuality, value and meaning, spirituality, and relationships. Through a variety of teaching styles, off-campus trips, unique guests, travel studies, and retreat courses, your professors equip you to explore your faith and question your world.

The video game industry is massive and global, earning over $40 billion in the US alone last year. Market trends show it will continue to be a major employer of well-paid, highly skilled professionals.

Our unique Game Development program is unlike any other program. You will gain the technical skills you need to develop video games and knowledge about the entrepreneurial aspects of the business—all while gaining experience and developing your specialization in a range of team-based activities.

Beginning as early as your second year, you will work on three intensive projects to create and market video games. As in the industry, you will work within an entrepreneurial and interdisciplinary team environment to drive the projects from concept stage to promotion - creating business models and monitoring costs and revenues. In addition to building your portfolio through experiential learning, TWU’s liberal arts core and focus on holistic education will equip you to be a valuable contributor and leader in your field.

A geography degree offers students the opportunity to tackle complex human and environmental problems with a skill set that emphasizes a combination of knowledge-building, critical thinking, informed problem solving, interdisciplinary learning, geospatial technologies and analysis, and hands-on solutions to positively impact people’s quality of life and their environments.

Geographers work in a wide array of fields including community development and missions, urban and regional planning, population and statistical analysis, geographic information systems, computerized mapping and remote sensing, business, retail analysis and market research, environmental assessment and resource conservation, geophysical analysis, and natural science research. Graduates with geography degrees are in high demand. Significant employment opportunities exist within government, teaching, business, private sector consulting, and in non-governmental/non-profit organization. The reasons for this wide range of opportunities and the demand for trained geographers in the workplace are the unique spatial perspective, interdisciplinary skills, holistic approach, geospatial technologies, statistical analysis and other skills the geography graduate offers.

An International Studies degree helps you understand global context and work toward answers for some of the world’s most demanding questions. With four different streams to choose from you are sure to find your fit in International studies.

Our courses are presented from historical and contemporary perspectives and challenge you to learn about the changing dynamics of the international society. You will learn from the expertise of specialized professors about topics such as war, foreign policy, globalization, economic disparity, and international development.

As part of the major, we encourage our students to study abroad in order to put what they learn in the classroom into practice. There are also many ways to get involved on campus, including student-led initiatives such as TWU’s Refugee Awareness Campaign or participation in Model United Nations.

International Studies majors typically find employment in international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), government, law, missions, or in providing other services in the global community.
