Students who wish to work in Canada require a work permit to do so. A student in Canada can work part-time during the course of his studies and full-time during holidays and semester breaks and post the completion of their course/program.

The Department of Music’s MMus and MA degrees can lead to career opportunities in performance, education, library science, music publishing, media, and arts administration, among others. Master of Music (MMus) in Composition
This 30 credit hour program offers the opportunity for intensive individualized studies in Composition. Over four semesters, students create a portfolio of compositions for varying performance mediums, including one work of at least 12 minutes duration, accompanied by a written analytical commentary. All students also take graduate courses in critical theory in the fine arts, and in research techniques specific to music.

Students can complete the pre-medicine requirements for the University of Saskatchewan MD Degree at the University of Regina. Students must complete a 4-year baccalaureate preparatory degree to be eligible to apply to the College of Medicine. As well, students will be required to write the MCAT for admission. The most up-to-date requirements and notice of upcoming changes will be posted on the College of Medicine website at www.usask.ca/medicine.

The Department of Geology offers graduate work leading to the MSc degree. Areas of specialization include quaternary and soil studies; geochemical, igneous, metamorphic, and structural studies of the Canadian Shield; Phanerozoic carbonate, clastic, and evaporite studies; and coal, petroleum, mineralization, geothermometry and fluid inclusion studies, isotope, and uranium, studies. Resources are available for particular western regional projects.
