What you will learn

• You will study performance, composition, music theory, history and literature, and both elementary and secondary music education. You will receive weekly private lessons and ensemble experience every year. You'll engage in significant student-teaching experiences throughout your degree and an extensive internship in the second year of your Bachelor of Education-Sequential Music program.
• Once you are finished your Bachelor of Music - Music Education degree in the College of Arts and Science, you will be accepted automatically into the College of Education so that you can complete a Bachelor of Education - Sequential Music degree in two years. This allows you to finish two degrees in six years.

Through innovative programming, integrated on-campus and field study opportunities, and the support of experienced and caring faculty, you will be prepared to succeed from the first day of classes through to graduation.

Program options
The Bachelor of Education degree is offered by the College of Education. You have two options when completing this program:

• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) - Early/Middle Years Program
• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) - Secondary Program

Early/Middle Years
If you want to teach students in Kindergarten through Grade 8, choose the Early/Middle Years level. The curriculum offers a general approach to various subjects to provide wide exposure to the subjects and teaching methods you will use in early years and middle years classrooms.

As part of your Education degree, you will choose two teaching areas in which to specialize. These subject areas are closely aligned with the Saskatchewan pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum areas:

• Social sciences / social studies

What you will learn
You will study performance, composition, music theory, history and literature. You will develop advanced skills with applied study in piano, voice, brass, winds, strings or percussion. You will examine the history of music which will provide you with a rich perspective into music, composers’ lives and their contributions to musical traditions, styles, genres and forms of composition.

Plant Ecologists study the interactions among plants, between plants and the environment, and between soils, plants and animals. Forestry industries, human and livestock health, and agriculture all depend on healthy plant communities and ecosystems.

What you will learn
Learn how to apply ecological principles to ecosystems such as rangelands, forests, wetlands, and croplands for sustainable production. Applied Plant Ecology integrates principles and advanced knowledge of managing, conserving, and restoring natural and semi-natural landscapes and ecosystems.

Geophysics is the application of physics to problems in Earth science. Geophysics is widely used in any situation where information on the subsurface is required—for example, environmental assessment and remediation, civil engineering, oceanography and space exploration.

What you will learn
You will study the earth’s interior using techniques based on physics and mathematics. You will participate in a field school that covers the complete range of geophysical tools including seismology, gravity, magnetics and electromagnetic methods which are used extensively in the search for natural resources. You will learn about the physics of earth processes like earthquakes and how to mitigate risks of natural hazards.

Learn about the world around you as you develop a broad understanding of international events and complex challenges involving peace and conflict, poverty and development, social justice and the environment.

What you will learn   
This program will equip you with global literacy and key insights into our interconnected world. You will take classes that explore government, business, culture, the environment, politics and international aspects of law, science, conflict and development. You will learn about inequality globally, challenges to cooperation among states, and the reasons for and complexity of crises and conflicts. You will understand and engage with some of the world’s most pressing issues.

The Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm.) degree is a four-year program offered by the University of Saskatchewan's Edwards School of Business.
All undergraduate students admitted to the Edwards School of Business are required to complete a common first-year of studies. In January of your second year, you'll apply to a specialization in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Management, Marketing or Supply Chain Management.

Management
Management is the organization and coordination of business activities in order to achieve certain goals and objectives. The major is designed for those students who seek a business education and do not wish to narrow their focus to a specific functional area.

Students within the Management major have significant flexibility to take a collection of courses from accounting, finance, human resource management, marketing, management and supply chain management. This wide breadth of knowledge gives you an ideal understanding of the strategy needed to achieve overall organizational goals and objectives.

Mathematics is the study of structures, patterns, and the use of formal reasoning to enrich our understanding of the world. It can be is used to predict patterns of societal behaviour, design immense structures, analyze disease transmission and build models of national economies. Mathematicians contribute to the formulation and solution of problems in diverse fields such as medicine, economics, computer science and engineering.

Studying mathematics will teach you how to think critically and use logic to solve a surprisingly wide variety of problems in fields such as the physical sciences, economics, biology and many others. You will learn to reason about numbers, shapes, and relations. Using these ideas you will model features of the world with the aid of tools such as differential equations, networks, algebraic structures and much more.

Kinesiology is the scientific study of the body in movement. It involves the understanding of how and why people move and the factors that limit and enhance our capacity for movement.
