Chemistry focuses on what happens to matter at the molecular and subatomic levels. In other words, it is the study of how virtually everything in the world really works. Chemists are at the forefront of scientific discovery in a wide variety of fields such as medicine, drug discovery, nanotechnology, new material design and the environment.

What you will learn
You will learn how molecules interact, how and why chemical reactions occur and how to control these processes. You will learn how to find answers to important questions such as: how do we harvest light to make energy, how do we build molecules that cure disease and how do plants protect themselves from pathogen attack? Through appropriate course selection, you can specialize in analytical, bioorganic, computational, inorganic, organic, organometallic, physical or theoretical chemistry.

Study the evolution of theatre and learn the practice of acting, directing, stage management, writing, costume design, lighting and sound production.

What you will learn
You will learn to act for theatre, film, radio and television and explore the directing process through coaching, conducting auditions and developing rehearsal schedules. Develop your talents as playwrights, stage managers and designers as you learn to construct stage sets, design costumes and gain hands-on experience with lighting, sound production and stage management for on-campus performances. You will engage with every aspect of the theatrical process as you learn the theory and evolution of theatrical production.

Study the histories of the visual arts which include photography, sculpture, painting, architecture, video, performances, installation, film, and digital imaging, among other media.

What you will learn
In addition to studying more traditional art history such as Renaissance and Baroque art you will be exposed to such areas as First People's Art History; Postcolonial Issues in Contemporary Canadian Art; Art of the Internet; Contemporary Performance Art Theory and Praxis; and Studies in Visual Culture. You will learn how visual forms from painting to film to the Internet and popular media, produce meaning in contemporary everyday life.

Mathematics is the study of structures, patterns, and the use of formal reasoning to enrich our understanding of the world. It can be is used to predict patterns of societal behaviour, design immense structures, analyze disease transmission and build models of national economies. Mathematicians contribute to the formulation and solution of problems in diverse fields such as medicine, economics, computer science and engineering.

What you will learn
Studying mathematics will teach you how to think critically and use logic to solve a surprisingly wide variety of problems in fields such as the physical sciences, economics, biology and many others. You will learn to reason about numbers, shapes, and relations. Using these ideas you will model features of the world with the aid of tools such as differential equations, networks, algebraic structures and much more.

Agricultural Biology provides students with the ability to apply scientific principles to biotechnology, genetics, evolution and wildland ecology including but not limited to wildlife and conservation biology, toxicology and environmental conditions, and wildlife and domestic animals.

What you will learn
With focus on particular areas relevant to agriculture—such as biotechnology, genetics and evolution, plant pathology, plant molecular biology and wildlife ecology—you will examine situations that are relevant to Saskatchewan. Our close associations with government and private research institutions that have considerable expertise provide opportunities for you to gain practical hands-on experience through student employment programs.

The College of Nursing offers three programs leading to the Master of Nursing (MN) degree: Professional Practice, Thesis, and Nurse Practitioner.

A student completing the Professional Practice or Thesis MN program will be able to:

• Articulate perspectives on nursing
• Critique, utilize and contribute to theoretical and empirical knowledge bases for nursing
• Develop, implement and evaluate strategies for advanced nursing practice at the client and system level
• Demonstrate leadership skills needed to influence change

Graduates will be able to assume:

• Leadership/advanced practice roles in health care
• Educator roles in service and educational institutions
• Research roles in terms of generation and utilization of nursing knowledge
• Further study at the doctoral level

Professional Practice Master's Program
Master of Nursing Professional Practice students are required to take 27 credits units of coursework. Courses are designed so students can complete them in less than two calendar years and are delivered using a combination of live web conferenced seminars (synchronous) or online delivery (asynchronous) distance learning within North America

The Bachelor of Arts and Science (B.A. & Sc.) degrees are distinct degrees combining the science disciplines with studies in the humanities, social sciences, and/or fine arts.  These unique and highly completive interdisciplinary programs are focused in areas of high demand and allow students to make connections needed to succeed in these areas. Health Studies

• This program examines the issue of health and wellness, including mental health, from a variety of perspectives including how biological, cultural, social, and environmental contexts influence the health and well-being of the individual.

What you will learn

• You will learn about issues of health ranging from biological, psychological, cultural and environmental and how factors such as genetics, personality, attitudes and abilities influence healthy social and emotional development throughout the life span. You will study the role of cultural and community processes in health and healing and examine how groups interact with their environment in healthy and unhealthy ways.

Learn about the world around you as you develop a broad understanding of international events and complex challenges involving peace and conflict, poverty and development, social justice and the environment.

What you will learn   
This program will equip you with global literacy and key insights into our interconnected world. You will take classes that explore government, business, culture, the environment, politics and international aspects of law, science, conflict and development. You will learn about inequality globally, challenges to cooperation among states, and the reasons for and complexity of crises and conflicts. You will understand and engage with some of the world’s most pressing issues.

Civil engineers build our physical world - roads and buildings, bridges and tunnels, airports and subway systems, water and sewage systems. They may specialize in foundation analysis, building and structural inspection, surveying and municipal planning.

What you will learn

• We’ve redesigned first-year engineering at USask to help you succeed and make engineering more fun. We call the new first year RE-ENGINEERED. It’s the only program of its kind in Canada. It will get you excited and inspired about engineering.
• In RE-ENGINEERED, instead of high-stakes exams, you will do more assignments and quizzes so you can improve your mark if you stumble early. Daily tutorials are part of the schedule so you can get help when you need it. And instead of final exams, you will explore the different branches of engineering in hands-on courses.
• You will choose your engineering specialty – known as your major, or discipline – at the end of your first year. This is the area you will study in-depth in your upper-years classes.

Discover unique traces of life from millions of years ago and follow the evolution of species from the depths of geologic time.

What you will learn
Your studies will focus on the fossil record of ancient organisms and their living descendants. You will learn to analyse the distribution and function of fossil animals and plants, reconstructing their evolutionary paths. Such evolutionary relationships are then tied to environmental data to reconstruct  the fossil species way of life. You will learn about human, plant and animal diversity, morphology and history.
