The Global B.Com. (Hons.) is the first programme being launched under the India Australia Global Education Initiative.The programme will offer innovative models of global education, training, and research for students in India. Students will commence studies with JGU in India and subsequently transfer to a Deakin University campus in Australia. 

The Global B.Com. (Hons.) offered in collaboration between JGU and Deakin University promises an education experience that blends the best of both institutions through an industry-relevant education portfolio,world-class faculty, and dynamic learning environment on the campuses of JGU in India and Deakin University in Australia. The unique portfolio of two undergraduate degrees from both institutions and a master’s degree from Deakin will ensure that graduates have an incredible opportunity to learn and grow in two international university systems.

Programme Introduction” to the following “Students continuing on to the Master’s programme will spend another 1.5 years at Deakin University pursuing their post-graduation at the end of which they will graduate with the MBA (International Business) degree in addition to the two undergraduate degrees

The aim of the 4-year Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hons.) programme is to educate visual thinkers, who can critically address this new imagery landscape and the social challenges that it yields. While ensuring the mastery of our students over traditional skills of craftsmanship and image-making, they will be encouraged to approach art with conceptual and theoretical tools.

The Bachelors of Architecture Program at the Jindal School of Art and Architecture (JSAA) is a five-year program in architecture which prepares you for a career as a licensed architect in India. The unique program at JSAA is divided into two parts; the Major and the Minor. In the Major you learn about material and making, about design thinking. You explore the social, historical, political, economic and technological interfaces of architecture. The major allows you to participate in exchange studios and collaborative works with students from some of the best schools in architecture such as AAP (Cornell), DAAP (University of Cincinnati), Bartlett (University College of London). The program places you in multiple internships at leading firms where you gain work experience, learn from and interact with the best architects in India and the world.

In addition to the Major, the program at the JSAA also allows you to choose one minor area of study. The minor areas of study are carefully designed to provide you with additional skillsets which no other program of architecture in the country provides. As a result, you emerge as an architect with a unique combination of abilities which can be applied across multiple industries and sectors.

The B.A. (Hons.) Diplomacy and Foreign Policy programme aims to equip students with an overview of the various instruments a state may use to pursue its foreign policy in a complex and challenging world order at the intersection of a detailed consideration of the constraints and limits it faces in the international domain, emanating from the rise/fall of globalisation, social and economic rights, and communication technologies which are central to media-based public diplomacy. It is the first and only unique Bachelor’s degree programme in India which integrates the study of related fields of foreign policy in the context of preservation of a state’s sovereignty and national interests, decision-making models of national leaders, hard and soft power in a fast-changing world order, and the essentials of statecraft– all combined into a single seamless Bachelor’s degree. This programme ensures that students gain a comprehensive foundation for understanding and applying classroom learnings as well as shaping their careers. Students will be introduced to diverse ideas and concepts of statehood and nationhood, national interest and diplomacy, the interaction between foreign policy formation and processes, and security, war, peace, sustainable development and other non-traditional domains involving social, political and economic rights as well.

The Bachelor of Design is a professional degree program for students who wish to work towards improving the inhabited spaces through experimental, experiential, and informed design processes. The program teaches students to imagine, propose, test and refine their ideas about how to live and dwell in the contemporary world and trains students in the knowledge systems that help anticipate changes in the future built environments (from domestic to urban scale). The program uniquely places student-centred inquiry as the core learning, through a sequential studio sequence culminating in a customized capstone design project. These courses are taught by internationally-trained design professors. The professional practice courses include new forms of social and technical knowledge: diversity, sustainability, digital representations and professional ethics. Other features of the program comprise diverse, customizable electives, a flexible system of minors in multiple subjects taught across schools within the university. This is a program for students with ambition, imagination and curiosity who wish to imagine and lead the design of a better world, and wishes to become knowledgeable and influential future design professions.

At present, the B. Des. Program offers Interior Design, Community & Urban Development after a common foundation year.

Community & Urban Development:

The Community & Urban Development pathway is designed to give you tools to engage with cities and with communities, as objects, as people, as metaphor, as relationships, as networks, and as organisms. This pathway empowers you to enhance your experience of cities and lives of communities by regulating land use and infrastructure, designing sustainable waste management or developing finance packages for cities and communities. You ensure that all members of the community are involved and represented in the decision-making processes. You work intimately to create political, social and economic opportunities for cities and communities across the globe. 

The pathway provides students with a variety of perspectives by drawing its faculty from a wide spectrum of academic and operational expertise, ranging from history, sociology, engineering, architecture, law, arts, geography, economics, anthropology among others. 

The Community & Urban Development pathway provides you with essential and fundamental skills to work within the development sector, economic and social systems, building industry, infrastructure and planning, including but not limited to:

P.G. Diploma in Research and Innovation (Jindal Fellowship Programme) aims to enhance research potential and capacity of students interested in pursuing research-based careers in the social sciences and humanities. The programme is designed to take students’ undergraduate education to the next level by enabling them to achieve in-depth understanding of the domains they have begun to explore.

As a PG Diploma in Research and Innovation (Jindal Fellowship Programme) scholar, the student will have an academic mentor for the whole year, working with her/his research ideas as well as an expert supervisor, who will guide her/him through the research internship of four months.

Programme Features

• Fellows engage meaningfully with a discipline and research area which they are interested in, through active mentorship and research supervision.
• During the first semester, students finish required and optional coursework. In the second, they complete a four-month long internship, preferably within a Research Centre in JGU.
• Learn from internationally-qualified teaching and research faculty from prominent universities worldwide, with gender parity and a 1:9 faculty-student ratio.
• The programme is designed for students interested to pursue higher education as well as for those wanting to work on research-based jobs in the industry.

Jindal School of Liberal Arts and Humanities is India’s first transnational humanities school. It’s B.A. Hons. Liberal Arts and Humanities programme adopts an innovative pedagogy and focuses on a strong interdisciplinary foundation in arts, social sciences and humanities subjects, with specialisations in specific areas.

The study of liberal arts inspires the development of the whole person through rigorous reading and writing, along with active experiential learning inside and outside the classroom, in an atmosphere of academic and intellectual freedom, a close faculty-student engagement, and small classes. B.A. Liberal Arts students graduate with the knowledge, flexible range of skills, aptitudes, and a life-long curiosity and love of learning. They will be prepared for a world of possibilities to explore future opportunities in the field of arts and humanities.

Over the first two years of the Bachelor of Arts degree, students train in the foundational aspects of the liberal arts through core courses in humanities and social sciences. They also study electives at JSLH and across the 12 different schools at JGU. To get first hand industry experience, liberal arts students also undertake one-month internships between every semester. In the final year of the programme they choose a major – one subject – as an area for concentrated study and also write a thesis. The thesis is a detailed work of substantial length and depth over a subject specialism chosen from the liberal arts courses covered during the programme.

The three-year fully residential BBA (Hons.) Degree programme is designed to give a global business management perspective through a unique pedagogy of learning and interaction. Today’s global economy rewards people who can traverse borders, understand cultures and operate in an international- context. With industry focus, this programme aims to make students proficient in learning software tools and best practices.

The M.A./M.Sc. degree in Applied Psychology is awarded following completion of a two-year graduate programme committed to the study and application of psychological principles and findings. The programme benefits from a strong culture of interdisciplinary research and learning, practical exposure, and hands-on application. The degree and instruction are jointly provided by the Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS) and the Jindal School of Psychology & Counselling (JSPC).

The programme aims to instil the necessary knowledge and skills for each student’s personal and academic growth, preparing them for immediate employment or Doctorate study.

The BA (Hons.) in Built Environment Studies at the Jindal School of Art and Architecture is a unique 3 + 1 (fellowship year option) program in the country. This program is especially designed for students who are interested in building and maintaining our cities, towns, infrastructure and communities from a humanistic and social scientific background. Through courses in this program you learn about the fundamentals of design & making our cities, towns infrastructure and communities in addition to learning law, policy, environmental issues, question of economics, technology, sustainability and ecology; all of which prepare you for becoming active participants in making the Built Environment of the future. Your “classrooms” are live cases and projects where you work with experts to learn how design, policy and law and go hand in hand to make buildings, cities, infrastructure to secure development that is just and equitable for communities. You visit and intern in firms that work globally in areas of housing, urban development, community design and development, conservation and heritage management, landscape design, sustainable development to develop your own insights into the variety of people who work on the Built Environment. You also avail of many exchange opportunities with similar programs in some of the top schools of design globally.
The Architectural Studies program, is geared towards students who are especially keen to embark on a career of engaging with the built environment from the point of view of nature, culture, history, politics and society. The program combines course from design and the liberal arts to produce professionals who are committed to understanding and making our built environment just, safe and equitable.
