The B.A. (Hons.) Film and New Media programme is a three-year undergraduate programme to nurture filmmakers and new media artists of the future. After establishing a journalism programme comparable to the best in the world in 2017, we are now venturing into the exciting world of filmmaking. In the centenary year of the birth of the legendary filmmaker, Satyajit Ray, we are launching the B.A.(Hons.) Film and New Media programme at JSJC.

The B.A. (Hons.) Film and New Media programme is one of the few that look to equip students with the expertise to be full-fledged film professionals at an undergraduate level. It provides tools to let the students work on their creative expressions in a general university setting. It will help create an environment of free and open learning where students will be encouraged to find an original voice to push the boundaries of the audiovisual culture/ medium. We also honour the liberal arts tradition in our courses.

Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) offers the 5-year integrated Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Laws (BBA LL.B. (Hons.)) Programme since 2013. The Programme is designed in keeping with the latest Bar Council of India rules and the University Grants Commission prescriptions and aims at fostering a culture of scholarship and academic excellence amongst the students.

The BBA LL.B. (Hons.) course provides a holistic understanding of the legal discipline through a combination of business, management, and law. This multidisciplinary approach equips the students to apply the law to the facts.

• The students study foundational courses and get an opportunity to explore their interests via elective courses and independent research projects.
• They can explore various career options through internships like in the corporate sector, law firms, small business houses, start-ups, advisory and legal consultancy, under CAs, CSs, CFAs firms, contract law related opportunities, international law firms and international organisations.
• The internships and law school curriculum gives them a broader understanding of the legal system and allows them to envisage diverse career paths (including higher studies). This enables them to be better prepared to enter the legal profession.
• At the end of the programme, the students of BBA LL.B. will learn how to communicate in a legal setup, interpret and apply laws, explore niche options in the legal industry, specialise in legal subjects of their interest and succeed in legal employment.

The three-year B.A. (Hons.) Legal Studies programme at Jindal Global Law school aims to nurture legal imagination among young students and build a strong foundation to study law and social sciences in the future or be absorbed into legal and allied fields. This B.A. (Hons.) Legal Studies  programme will be the first ever multi-disciplinary undergraduate degree in legal studies to be launched in 2020-21 academic year.

The Bachelor of Design is a professional degree program for students who wish to work towards improving the inhabited spaces through experimental, experiential, and informed design processes. The program teaches students to imagine, propose, test and refine their ideas about how to live and dwell in the contemporary world and trains students in the knowledge systems that help anticipate changes in the future built environments (from domestic to urban scale). The program uniquely places student-centred inquiry as the core learning, through a sequential studio sequence culminating in a customized capstone design project. These courses are taught by internationally-trained design professors. The professional practice courses include new forms of social and technical knowledge: diversity, sustainability, digital representations and professional ethics. Other features of the program comprise diverse, customizable electives, a flexible system of minors in multiple subjects taught across schools within the university. This is a program for students with ambition, imagination and curiosity who wish to imagine and lead the design of a better world, and wishes to become knowledgeable and influential future design professions.

At present, the B. Des. Program offers Interior Design, Community & Urban Development after a common foundation year.

Community & Urban Development:

The Community & Urban Development pathway is designed to give you tools to engage with cities and with communities, as objects, as people, as metaphor, as relationships, as networks, and as organisms. This pathway empowers you to enhance your experience of cities and lives of communities by regulating land use and infrastructure, designing sustainable waste management or developing finance packages for cities and communities. You ensure that all members of the community are involved and represented in the decision-making processes. You work intimately to create political, social and economic opportunities for cities and communities across the globe. 

The pathway provides students with a variety of perspectives by drawing its faculty from a wide spectrum of academic and operational expertise, ranging from history, sociology, engineering, architecture, law, arts, geography, economics, anthropology among others. 

The Community & Urban Development pathway provides you with essential and fundamental skills to work within the development sector, economic and social systems, building industry, infrastructure and planning, including but not limited to:

B.A. (Hons.) Finance Entrepreneurship is an innovative programme that combines entrepreneurial skills and creative abilities with focused training in finance and practical knowledge of technology. This programme will provide students with the opportunity to develop skills through combination of traditional and practical knowledge, and perspectives on issues of finance and corporate affairs.

Jindal School of Banking & Finance offers the three-year fully residential B.A. Hons. Finance and Entrepreneurship programme with aim to provide students with hands-on training intending to prepare the students to create new products and services aiming to develop an entrepreneurial mindset with a practical understanding of finance in a dynamic environment.

Jindal School of Liberal Arts and Humanities is India’s first transnational humanities school. It’s B.A. Hons. Liberal Arts and Humanities programme adopts an innovative pedagogy and focuses on a strong interdisciplinary foundation in arts, social sciences and humanities subjects, with specialisations in specific areas.

The study of liberal arts inspires the development of the whole person through rigorous reading and writing, along with active experiential learning inside and outside the classroom, in an atmosphere of academic and intellectual freedom, a close faculty-student engagement, and small classes. B.A. Liberal Arts students graduate with the knowledge, flexible range of skills, aptitudes, and a life-long curiosity and love of learning. They will be prepared for a world of possibilities to explore future opportunities in the field of arts and humanities.

Over the first two years of the Bachelor of Arts degree, students train in the foundational aspects of the liberal arts through core courses in humanities and social sciences. They also study electives at JSLH and across the 12 different schools at JGU. To get first hand industry experience, liberal arts students also undertake one-month internships between every semester. In the final year of the programme they choose a major – one subject – as an area for concentrated study and also write a thesis. The thesis is a detailed work of substantial length and depth over a subject specialism chosen from the liberal arts courses covered during the programme.

The aim of the 4-year Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hons.) programme is to educate visual thinkers, who can critically address this new imagery landscape and the social challenges that it yields. While ensuring the mastery of our students over traditional skills of craftsmanship and image-making, they will be encouraged to approach art with conceptual and theoretical tools.

The B.A. (Hons.) Diplomacy and Foreign Policy programme aims to equip students with an overview of the various instruments a state may use to pursue its foreign policy in a complex and challenging world order at the intersection of a detailed consideration of the constraints and limits it faces in the international domain, emanating from the rise/fall of globalisation, social and economic rights, and communication technologies which are central to media-based public diplomacy. It is the first and only unique Bachelor’s degree programme in India which integrates the study of related fields of foreign policy in the context of preservation of a state’s sovereignty and national interests, decision-making models of national leaders, hard and soft power in a fast-changing world order, and the essentials of statecraft– all combined into a single seamless Bachelor’s degree. This programme ensures that students gain a comprehensive foundation for understanding and applying classroom learnings as well as shaping their careers. Students will be introduced to diverse ideas and concepts of statehood and nationhood, national interest and diplomacy, the interaction between foreign policy formation and processes, and security, war, peace, sustainable development and other non-traditional domains involving social, political and economic rights as well.

The Global B.Com. (Hons.) is the first programme being launched under the India Australia Global Education Initiative.The programme will offer innovative models of global education, training, and research for students in India. Students will commence studies with JGU in India and subsequently transfer to a Deakin University campus in Australia. 

The Global B.Com. (Hons.) offered in collaboration between JGU and Deakin University promises an education experience that blends the best of both institutions through an industry-relevant education portfolio,world-class faculty, and dynamic learning environment on the campuses of JGU in India and Deakin University in Australia. The unique portfolio of two undergraduate degrees from both institutions and a master’s degree from Deakin will ensure that graduates have an incredible opportunity to learn and grow in two international university systems.
