Masters in Microbiology is a two year course that offers two specialization streams namely Food and Environmental Microbiology and Medical and Pharmaceutical Microbiology.

Medical Microbiology comprises and integrates the fields of immunology, bacteriology, virology, mycology, and parasitology. The common bond between them is the focus on the causes of infectious diseases and on the reactions of the host to the pathogens. The objective of specialized course of medical microbiology is to provide in-depth knowledge of the etiologic organisms causing diseased and the pathogenic mechanisms leading to clinically manifest infections into its host. This knowledge is a necessary prerequisite for the diagnosis, therapy, and prevention of any infectious diseases, indispensable for both biotech, pharma industries and academic sectors.

As pharmaceutical microbiology is crucial to the manufacture and production of drugs, biologics and devices, it is absolutely important that people working in these industries have a strong understanding and in-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical microbiological principles, techniques, processes and strategies in order to avoid any potentially costly and life-threatening failures and consequences.

The specialisation acquaints the students on subjects such as Manufacturing Operations for Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Lean Manufacturing et al. The program equips them to understand how an organization achieves high levels of efficiency in converting material and labour into goods and services and create linkages on their distribution.

The M.Tech. Program in Energy Systems and Sustainability provides scope for engineering innovators / entrepreneurs with a mission to develop sustainable energy systems and solutions for the future. Program delivery is intended by aligning the content as per the industry working methodology. UPES School of Design’s Under Graduate Programme in User Experience and Interaction Design blends technical know-how, interdisciplinary research and a creative artistic-scientific approach. This enables the development of creative interfaces that generate progressive and innovative applications for media design, media research, media art, and communication. The graduates will gain proficiency in creating engaging user interfaces, ranging from 2D screen (UI for web and mobile) to 3D (AR/VR).

The course equips students on subjects including Security Analysis and Portfolio Management, and International Financial Management, giving an understanding of the finance division of an organization or for pursuing higher education such as MBA, MS (Finance), FRM, and CFA program. Case studies and practical examples are at the core of this course. Students undertake term projects to apply the theoretical frameworks to business management issues, especially finance.

This is a 5-year full-time course, which explores the role of international economic law in the contemporary global economy. It provides an overview of the legal foundations of the global economy and the regulatory frameworks governing international trade and investment relations.

The emphasis of the course is upon how international trade economics interacts with domestic investment law and cross-border investment law keeping in view MNC’s as well as other state and non-state actors.
