Integrated (B.Des) - (M.Des) - (Interaction Design) in Interaction Design trains students to research, analyze, prototype, and design concepts in business, social, and cultural contexts within existing and emerging technologies. The objective of this course is to equip aspiring global managers with economic, legal, political, and technical competence. It imparts knowledge of general management and at the same time encompasses sectors namely renewable energy, energy efficiency, climate change and sustainable development, green buildings, corporate sustainability, global standards, and environmental management. The program provides a judicious blend of theory and practice and prepares the students to meet the contemporary global needs.

International Business is altogether different from domestic business. Every country has its own values, traditions, customs, norms, religion, cultural imperatives, do’s and don’ts, and business ethics. A business strategy most successful in our country may be a fiasco in another country due to difference in their attitudes and culture. Moreover, due to globalization, in MNCs, one has to deal with personnel/employees from different countries with varied backgrounds and culture. To be successful in business, one should be aware of these cultural disparities of its employees.

This course provides an overview and introduction to financial economic analysis covering markets, institutions, structures, and instruments. Some of the basic models used to benchmark valuation of assets and derivatives are studied in detail. These include the Capital Asset Pricing Model and the Binomial Option Pricing model. The course ends with a brief introduction to corporate finance.

Masters in Microbiology is a two year course that offers two specialization streams namely Food and Environmental Microbiology and Medical and Pharmaceutical Microbiology. The stream Food and Environmental Microbiology offers electives courses such as probiotics and pre-biotics, food contamination and food borne diseases, bio fertilizers and bioremediation. Each stage of course is one up the previous level. Pre-biotics and pro-biotics covers how microbes are used in therapy and in impacting our over-all health. Food borne diseases delves upon how infectious diseases are contracted through food and prevention measures. The last course in the specialization bio-fertilizers and bioremediation elaborates the role of microbes in killing other microbes, pests and insects; and bio-remediation elaborates on the use of microbes in removal of toxins, contaminants and pollutants from environment. These three courses enable a student to become prospective food and or environmental microbiologist. The syllabus is designed such that students intern in industries/companies of their interest and do multi-disciplinary research project at SoHSSchool of Health Sciences, UPES in tie up with School of Computer Science, School of Business, School of Engineering and School of Design. The focus remains on outcome based education with the outcome being highly employable, problem solving microbiologists.

Dietetics and holistic wellness covers all information concerned with the diet planning and its effects on health, especially with the practical application of a scientific understanding of diet calculation. Dietetics and holistic wellness prepares students to use advanced knowledge about food and diet to help, prevent as well as treat diseases and maintain holistic wellness. Dietetics is a science that deals with the adequacy of diet during normal life cycle and modifications required during diseased condition. Holistic wellness is associated with an active process of being aware and making choices that lead toward an outcome of optimal holistic health and wellbeing. This specialization enable the students to learn the methods of assessing human nutritional requirements, dietary assessment and diet planning. It imparts the understanding of the concepts of diet therapy, basic dietetics, public health, therapeutic nutrition and alternative wellness therapies. It deals with diet monitoring, food exchange and calorie calculation. This specialization covers all Incidence, etiology, pathology & metabolic aberrations, clinical manifestation, complications, dietary management &counseling of Acute and chronic fever, Surgery, burns and trauma.
