The specialization provides hands-on experience in subjects such as retail analytics, retail supply chain, retail business, retail marketing and e-payment system for e-commerce. The curriculum includes required skills in digital marketing and search engine optimization.

Computational Mathematics involves mathematical research in areas of science and engineering where computing plays an essential role. Some topics of study include developing accurate and efficient numerical methods for solving physical or biological models, analysis of numerical approximations to differential and integral equations, developing computational tools to better understand data and structure, etc. 

Food and environmental microbiology offers electives courses such as probiotics and pre-biotics, food contamination and food borne diseases, bio fertilizers and bioremediation. Each stage of course is one up the previous level. Pre-biotics and pro-biotics talk about how microbes are used in therapy and in impacting our over-all health. Food borne diseases then talks about how infectious diseases are contracted through food and what shall be done to prevent it. The last course in the specialization bio-fertilizers and bioremediation elaborates the role of microbes in killing other microbes, pests and insects and bio-remediation elaborates on the use of microbes in removal of toxins, contaminants and pollutants from environment. These three courses enable a student to become prospective food and or environmental microbiologist. The syllabus designed is such that students intern in industries/companies of their interest and do multi-disciplinary research project at School of Health Sciences UPES in tie up with School of computer science, School of business, School of Engineering and Design. The focus remains on outcome based education with the outcome being highly employable, problem solving microbiologists.  

UPES provides a unique and focused Integrated B.Sc-M.Sc program with specialization in organic chemistry. The specialization equips students with extensive knowledge allowing them to opt for various careers in academics, industries and research fields. Integrated B.Sc.-M.Sc. Chemistry with specialization in Organic Chemistry will help the students to understand the chemical synthesis of various chemicals, products and polymers. The plethora of research area among the faculty members provides an understanding of different future oriented aspects of chemistry.  The Laboratory courses are designed to offer comprehensive knowledge and hands on experience on sophisticated techniques. The last semester of the program is dedicated to dissertation work making students aware about the application of concepts on real-life challenges. Students are supervised by experienced and research-oriented faculty members.

M.Sc is a two-year postgraduate program in Pharmacology and Toxicology that provides broad, multidisciplinary training that enables our students to pursue careers in the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industries as well as in academic and government research laboratories. Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Legislative Law (BBA + LLB) is a five-year integrated dual degree course which provides an integrated study of management studies and legislative law in an entirely independent manner.

This integrated course trains students in two different fields – commerce and legislative regulations – as a comprehensive concept for five years duration. The program provides students with a vast knowledge of business, commerce and law subjects that are crucial in the professional world such as Business Statistics, Business Communication, Auditing, Economics, as well as Law of Contract, Law of Taxation, Media Law, Competition Law, Corporate Law, International Trade Law, Corporate Finance, Investment Law, Corporate Restructuring, and the likes.

The course is a concoction of the study of commerce and law. By completing this integrated course, a student can learn about two different professional fields. The specialised law course, in its five-years duration, equips the students with the knowledge of both commerce and legislative regulations as a comprehensive concept.

This course has been designed to examine the interactions between food production and consumption, health, and environment through environmental and food justice lenses. Building on concepts developed in food systems, it explores topics such as public health disparities and their structural causes, environmental toxins in the food system and their impact on workers and consumers, as well as policies that have or could affect these outcomes, in both historical and contemporary contexts.

Apart from conceptual discussion and debates, the program also includes field trips and/or guest lectures to give practical experience to the learners.

This professional integrated degree of arts with the profound knowledge of the law gives a double boost to the career of students aspiring to join the legal fraternity. The subjects covered under arts include Sociology, History, Political Science in correlation with legal subjects of Criminal Law, Civil Law, Administrative Law, Constitutional Law and Labour Laws under the proficient guidance of highly qualified faculty members.

This is a 5-year full-time course, which explores the role of international economic law in the contemporary global economy. It provides an overview of the legal foundations of the global economy and the regulatory frameworks governing international trade and investment relations.

The emphasis of the course is upon how international trade economics interacts with domestic investment law and cross-border investment law keeping in view MNC’s as well as other state and non-state actors.

This program specialization encourages students to explore the key principles of pharmacokinetics (PK) including factors that affect the absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and binding of drugs and integrate these principles into the process of monitoring, evaluating and adjusting dosing for patients. It provides students with the ability to interpret drug concentration measurements in the context of the therapeutic window, along with the derivation of dosage adjustments to maintain therapeutic concentrations. Upon completion of the course, the student will contribute at planning, design and analysis of clinical studies from pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic (PD) perspective. They will apply this information in the clinical drug development process. It will also provide hands on experience with pharmacokinetic data analysis, advanced PK/PD modeling research with emphasis on disease progression modeling and implementation of mechanism-based approaches.
