UPES School of Design’s Postgraduate Programme, M.Des. in Graphics Design prepares students to become proficient and compelling visual storytellers with a focus on the evolving industry and technology. Students are exposed to image design, typography, layout design, branding, design history, research methods, web-based design, digital design, photography, and graphics technology.

The specialization in marketing prepares the students on subjects like Social and Digital Media Marketing, Advertising and Sales Promotion etc. The emphasis is on developing critical as well as analytical thinking in the specialized area though case study, projects, workshops, masterclasses by industry experts, among other pedagogical tools.

Applied Mathematics focuses on the innovative creation and imaginative use of mathematical concepts to present and solve problems over the various field of natural sciences, engineering sciences, medical sciences and emerging fields such as data sciences and artificial intelligence. The program is designed to provide students an increased knowledge and comprehensive understanding of mathematics, particularly in algorithms, fluid mechanics, differential equations, probability and stochastics, and optimisation. 

The full term of two years and the syllabus for the program is divided into four semesters. This Master’s program is also an ideal preparation for various PhD programs in basic sciences and engineering.  

The objective of this course is to equip aspiring global managers with economic, legal, political, and technical competence. It imparts knowledge of general management and at the same time encompasses sectors namely renewable energy, energy efficiency, climate change and sustainable development, green buildings, corporate sustainability, global standards, and environmental management. The program provides a judicious blend of theory and practice and prepares the students to meet the contemporary global needs.

Avionics deals with the design and analysis of electronics and communication systems used in the aerospace industry The prescribed courses of study and syllabi cover areas like, Radar Systems, Fly-By-wire flight Control System, Signal and Embedded Electronics, Avionics System Design and aerospace engineering Subjects Viz,. Aerodynamics, propulsion and structures.

The laboratories are well equipped with state of art technology, which will enable students to learn on job skills while pursuing their curriculum.

In present time, when we exercise immense Computing power which is still growing rapidly, undergraduate students can take great benefit by implementing various computational tools and techniques. Also, computational tools can be used in several areas starting from simulating various systems for the prediction of properties at micro/ macro/ nano level to development of new materials for the betterment of the life of the mankind to drug development etc. Computational techniques like Material Modelling, Drug development, Computational Chemistry are not only very reliable, but they save both money, time of the user. With Science expanding its horizons towards the areas like Machine learning, Data Science, Decision Science etc, the graduate students should be well prepared for utilizing these efficient computational techniques. If the science graduates also have a high level of computational and mathematical ability, it will definitely open a wide and diversified range of opportunities for them. 

Clinical Research enables health care professionals to develop new therapies and diagnostic procedures and medical devices to ensure better patient care. M.Sc. in Clinical Research is a 2-year postgraduate course aimed at providing experiential learning with comprehensive curriculum.

The Clinical Pharmacokinetics specialization encourages students to explore the key principles of pharmacokinetics (PK) including factors that affect the absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and binding of drugs and integrate these principles into the process of monitoring, evaluating and adjusting dosing for patients. It provides students with the ability to interpret drug concentration measurements in the context of the therapeutic window, along with the derivation of dosage adjustments to maintain therapeutic concentrations. Upon completion of the course, the student will contribute at planning, design and analysis of clinical studies from pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic (PD) perspective. They will apply this information in the clinical drug development process. It will also provide hands on experience with pharmacokinetic data analysis, advanced PK/PD modeling research with emphasis on disease progression modeling and implementation of mechanism-based approaches.

The course is a concoction of the study of commerce and law. By completing this integrated course, a student can learn about two different professional fields. The specialised law course, in its five-years duration, equips the students with the knowledge of both commerce and legislative regulations as a comprehensive concept.

This is a five-year program that offers domain-specific subjects ranging from Making of the Indian Constitution, Jurisprudential Approach to Constitution to Comparative Federalism, and Legislative Relations. Drawing heavily from the rulings made in the Supreme Court, it is designed to preserve the relationships between state and federal governments and protect the rights of the individual. Furthermore, it enables the students to become better citizens by sensitising them about concepts that are the basis of a civilised society.

The specialisation educates students in regulating and resolving disputes relating to both individual labour laws i.e. the employees’ rights at work and the employment standards as well as the tripartite labour laws i.e. the relationship between the employer, employee, and the union. UPES provides students with an opportunity to complete two seminar papers and a dissertation exclusively in labour laws under the mentorship of the faculty and an industry-based professional.

Food and environmental microbiology offers electives courses such as probiotics and pre-biotics, food contamination and food borne diseases, bio fertilizers and bioremediation. Each stage of course is one up the previous level. Pre-biotics and pro-biotics talk about how microbes are used in therapy and in impacting our over-all health. Food borne diseases then talks about how infectious diseases are contracted through food and what shall be done to prevent it. The last course in the specialization bio-fertilizers and bioremediation elaborates the role of microbes in killing other microbes, pests and insects and bio-remediation elaborates on the use of microbes in removal of toxins, contaminants and pollutants from environment. These three courses enable a student to become prospective food and or environmental microbiologist. The syllabus designed is such that students intern in industries/companies of their interest and do multi-disciplinary research project at School of Health Sciences UPES in tie up with School of computer science, School of business, School of Engineering and Design. The focus remains on outcome based education with the outcome being highly employable, problem solving microbiologists.
