This specialisation explores the complex legal issues arising out of international banking, trade, and business from the standpoint of both transactional perspective and dispute settlement mechanisms (litigation and arbitration). Pharmaceutical Biotechnology can be defined as that branch of study which applies principles of biotechnology in development of therapeutics. This is one of the fastest growing areas in the pharma sector. Development of diagnostics as a point of care using pharmaceutical Biotechnology is widespread in todays’ world. Common biopharmaceutical products include proteins, antibodies, aptamers, recombinant DNA products, gene therapy, engineered enzyme, etc.  Pharmaceutical biotechnology companies develop tailor-made medicine for maximum therapeutic effects. A majority of therapeutic drugs in the current market are pharmaceutical application biotechnology principles such as antibodies, nucleic acid products and vaccines.

This multidisciplinary course has broad scope not only with theoretical knowledge, but with skill development opportunities and also focuses on practical content, exposure to pre-clinical studies and marketing. This course will cover all the technologies associated with production, manufacturing and registration of biological drugs. The various components of the course will better prepare students for a diverse career in either academia or industry.

Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Legislative Law (BBA + LLB) is a five-year integrated dual degree course which provides an integrated study of management studies and legislative law in an entirely independent manner.

This course is designed to train students in the intricacies of law as well as financial markets, making them proficient in all basic law subjects such as constitutional law, criminal law, and international law. In addition to these, it has an in-depth focus on laws related to banking, finance and insurance, the pillars of modern economies, and regulatory bodies related to these fields such as Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), Competition Commission of India (CCI), and Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA).

Integrated B.Sc.- M.Sc. (Physics) with specialization in Material Science aims to equip students both with the fundamental as well as advanced concepts in Physics as well as hands on training in synthesis and characterization of novel materials - finding applications in domains including but not limited to health, sanitation, defense, clean energy harvesting (solar cells, fuel cells, hydrogen storage, etc.), aerospace, semiconductors industry, etc. Students will also have opportunity to learn computational materials science, in which they will be equipped with various simulation software /techniques and numerical algorithms to simulate materials via computers. The students enrolling for this program will have opportunity to work with faculty members having exceptional academic and research credentials in theoretical and experimental materials science. Students will also have access to the state-of-the art material synthesis and characterization instruments installed in the campus. 

Food and environmental microbiology offers electives courses such as probiotics and pre-biotics, food contamination and food borne diseases, bio fertilizers and bioremediation. Each stage of course is one up the previous level. Pre-biotics and pro-biotics talk about how microbes are used in therapy and in impacting our over-all health. Food borne diseases then talks about how infectious diseases are contracted through food and what shall be done to prevent it. The last course in the specialization bio-fertilizers and bioremediation elaborates the role of microbes in killing other microbes, pests and insects and bio-remediation elaborates on the use of microbes in removal of toxins, contaminants and pollutants from environment. These three courses enable a student to become prospective food and or environmental microbiologist. The syllabus designed is such that students intern in industries/companies of their interest and do multi-disciplinary research project at School of Health Sciences UPES in tie up with School of computer science, School of business, School of Engineering and Design. The focus remains on outcome based education with the outcome being highly employable, problem solving microbiologists.  

UPES School of Design’s Postgraduate Programme in Interaction Design trains students to research, analyze, prototype, and design concepts in business, social, and cultural contexts within existing and emerging technologies. Students will gain proficiency in creating engaging user interfaces, ranging from 2D screen (UI for web and mobile) to 3D (AR/VR and will be able to conceptualize user experiences around new and emerging technology, and design to make interfaces more usable, useful and pleasant.

The specialisation covers the all the traditional computer science subjects (DBMS, OS, Networks, Data structure, JAVA, etc.) and domain-oriented subjects (3D Modeling, Animation, Game development). The course gives the complete overview of how the graphics is created or a game is developed.

In the upstream oil and gas industry, digital transformation is changing how business is performed. E&P data stored in warehouses on various old media technologies cannot be accessed on today’s platforms, and that signifying missed opportunities. Oil and gas organizations possess a wealth of subsurface information. Optimal use of E&P data differentiates production plateaus from fresh income-generating insights using historical data. Companies can forego around nearly 8 billion dollars a year in non-productive time as their geologists, geophysicists, engineers, and data managers spend up to 70 percent of  time filtering mountains of well (onshore and offshore) cores, logscans, and subsurface seismic data in many current and defunct software applications and databases.
Storage, management and organization of giant volumes of hard-copy proprietary records and media archives, and locating and accessing the specific data required for analysis, interpretation and processing, is unwieldy and challenging. This inefficiency renders only 1% of the existing data of any value.

Digitizing and transforming these valuable data into safe cloud-based data, puts priceless E&P information at the geoscientist’s and data manager’s disposal. It is stored privately and securely in the cloud. Digitized geoscience data, when combined with data analytics can be instantly read, interpreted, indexed, manipulated, verified and accessed with smart-tools incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) and machine-learning. Therefore, legacy data can be mined to discover useful patterns for prompt and wise decisions.
