The specialised law course, in its five-years duration, equips the students with the knowledge of both commerce and legislative regulations as a comprehensive concept.

This course provides a holistic view of the techno-commercial and policy-cum-regulatory framework of energy and its relationship with other sectors. The curriculum deepens the students’ understanding of the relationship between commercial economics, industry profitability, regulatory reforms vis-a-vis conservation, development, environmental impact, and judicious use of resources.

Students pursuing Business Analytics and Optimization learn the essential computer science concepts such as Data Structures, Algorithms, OOPS concepts using Java, databases and software engineering and design processes, but also learns Advance Statistical Analysis, Data Mining and Predictive Modeling, Business Intelligence, Business Strategy and Analytics, Operations Research and Optimization, Social and Web Analytics, BAO on cloud, Big Data Analytics, Content Analytics.

Business analytics makes extensive use of statistical analysis, including explanatory and predictive modeling, and fact-based management to drive decision making.

Data Science is a blend of various tools, algorithms, and machine learning principles with the goal to discover hidden patterns from the raw data. Data Scientist not only does the exploratory analysis to discover insights from it, but also uses various advanced machine-learning algorithms to identify the occurrence of a particular event in the future. Data Science is primarily used to make decisions and predictions making use of predictive causal analytics, prescriptive analytics (predictive plus decision science) and machine learning.

Smart materials are materials that can respond to external stimuli such as stress, moisture, electric/magnetic field, temperature and pH. They are at the core of sensors used in smart electronics and comprise a huge variety of materials including piezoelectric, shape-memory, photovoltaic, thermoelectric, ferrofluids and self-healing materials. A student opting for this specialisation will be exposed to the properties, synthesis and application of these materials, and will be able to explore one of these material systems in-depth through the dedicated project work.

Pharmaceutical Biotechnology can be defined as that branch of study which applies principles of biotechnology in development of therapeutics. This is one of the fastest growing areas in the pharma sector. Development of diagnostics as a point of care using pharmaceutical Biotechnology is widespread in todays’ world. Common biopharmaceutical products include proteins, antibodies, aptamers, recombinant DNA products, gene therapy, engineered enzyme, etc.  Pharmaceutical biotechnology companies develop tailor-made medicine for maximum therapeutic effects. A majority of therapeutic drugs in the current market are pharmaceutical application biotechnology principles such as antibodies, nucleic acid products and vaccines.

This multidisciplinary course has broad scope not only with theoretical knowledge, but with skill development opportunities and also focuses on practical content, exposure to pre-clinical studies and marketing. This course will cover all the technologies associated with production, manufacturing and registration of biological drugs. Environmental geochemistry has grown rapidly over the last decade and is the core of environmental sector. Global environmental consultancy market is the primary destination for suitably skilled graduates. This field is currently growing at its strongest rate for five years. Environmental Geochemistry expertise is key to many aspects of the day-to-day work of environmental consultants, geologists, civil, structural and mining engineers, environmental regulatory authorities, mining and oil companies.

Environmental geochemistry is concerned with the sources, distribution and interactions of chemical elements in rocks, soils, waters, air and biological material. It concerns studying a wide variety of environmental materials using a range of analytical tools that include field investigation, chemical instrumentation, and digital modelling.

Environmental geochemistry graduates are well suited for environmental consulting, specializing in interpretation of complex datasets and chemical behaviour, or for analysing scientific data for a commercial or research laboratory.
