The New Zealand Diploma in Business is a stand-alone program providing a firm understanding of business in the New Zealand environment along with the most valuable attributes that are required in the modern business era. You’ll choose from two majors: accounting and leadership and management.

The Master of Wine Business and Innovation (MWBI) is a Level 9 program of 240 credits, completed by coursework, industry integrated project, or applied research.

The philosophy underpinning the Wine Business and Innovation suite of programs is to provide a breadth of knowledge and a business focus to those wanting to develop their skills and progress within the wine industry. The programs can serve as rigorous professional development for those already within the wine industry, and as an advanced level pathway into the industry for those in other areas.

The Master of Professional Creative Practice is a 180 credit program with full-time study for one and a half years at Level 9, consisting of four compulsory courses that provides you with the opportunity to create a body of creative work to a standard that develops, extends and refines prior professional practices, processes and knowledge. This will be done through research and critical evaluation to strengthen your creative practice while contextualizing your practice in relation to relevant communities, contemporary concepts, models theory, technologies and professional practice management techniques.

The Graduate Diploma in Business is the ideal program for students looking to take the next step in their career or for those looking for a change. This program is suitable for students without previous qualifications in a business-related field who want to add a degree-level business qualification to their undergraduate subject area.

Logistics and Supply Chain

Graduates of the Graduate Diploma in Business (Logistics and Supply Chain) will be able to:

• Demonstrate a sound knowledge of management principles and concepts and their relationship to logistics and supply chain;
• Understand a business as a system and work effectively within it.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the contribution of logistics and supply chain management to organisation strategy and performance;
• Analyse current logistic and supply chain strategies and formulate and develop solutions, where necessary, in the context of the business objectives.

This one year project-based program is designed for people wanting to gain craft skills and knowledge required to work in the screen industry. On this course you produce all your own work from conception to completion.

The program has been designed to give you as much “hands-on” experience with professional camera, sound and editing equipment as practical. We primarily use state-of-the-art digital cameras for recording images then edit those images on non-linear digital editing systems, as used in the professional industry.

Advance your knowledge and capability to meet the future needs of the national and global logistics and supply chain industry. The postgraduate program suite in logistics and supply chain management will prepare and upskill students for success in the industry.

The BCS program equips graduates with the skills and practices to achieve entry-level IT positions to pursue a professional career in the industry. In particular, the program is designed to:

• prepare graduates to be effective in a variety of professional roles, applying the technical expertise required by their endorsed discipline;
• provide a well-defined and relevant curriculum, whilst incorporating flexibility to enable rapid adoption of new technologies;

The Master of Health Science programme provides the opportunity for practitioners working in health and health-related fields to advance and expand their knowledge and expertise within an interdisciplinary learning environment. 

Courses are designed around knowledge and research relating to key threads of health disparities and the global health needs of populations. The program provides you with the opportunity to investigate the worldwide improvement of health, reduction of health disparities and protection against global threats from an international context.

The multidisciplinary and inter-professional context of health science involves everyone sharing discussions from their own experiences, enabling all practitioners to advance their knowledge of health treatment, care and prevention of disparities in a truly interdisciplinary sphere.

The Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) supports individuals to become competent social work practitioners within their communities. It enables students to apply for professional registration to be a social worker practitioner in Aotearoa/New Zealand. 

Students will develop the understanding, personal attributes, knowledge and skills needed to be competent social workers in a range of fields, some of which include, family work, health and education, child protection, drug and alcohol, family violence, working with probation and youth services.

The objective of this program is to produce graduates who:

• Are empathic, non-judgmental, respectful, resilient and self-aware; and demonstrate integrity, authenticity and professionalism.
• Take a critical, reflective approach to social work practice that includes the use of supervision, continuing professional development, on-going learning and personal wellbeing.
• Are able to promote social justice and social change, and to uphold the principles of human rights in both the Aotearoa New Zealand and global contexts.
• Are able to work collaboratively and in partnership with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.
• Understand the significance and implications of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and integrate this understanding into social work practice.

The program for cookery and professional chef training at EIT is full-time for two years which offers you stimulating studies and provides the opportunity to begin a career in the hospitality industry.

Formal work experience in industry is an important part of the program, providing valuable on-the-job training as well as building professional networks and experience.

• Patisserie: breads, pastries, desserts and cakes, includes City & Guilds Diploma in Patisserie.
• Cookery: global cuisine, modern cooking techniques, menu planning and costing, and charcuterie.
