In a world that now comprises a very real and thriving 'enterprise culture', this course takes you through the entire process of concept, development and execution of starting a business. With entrepreneurship insights from specialist management disciplines you will develop practice based skills and knowledge in strategy and logistics, as well as an understanding of innovation networking from a behavioural perspective.

We will build on your ability to make confident decisions, help you spot market opportunities, adopt team working skills, apply critical attitudes towards leadership, think creatively and develop as an entrepreneurial leader. You will then apply these skills in a number of situations, including the mentoring of undergraduates with entrepreneurial aspirations and working on live cases to innovatively solve problems for small enterprises.

You enrol on a four-year course, which includes the one-year foundation course. If you complete this year successfully you progress directly onto one of our three-year degree courses in these subject areas. The number of students who progress to degree study are very high - in fact some of these students have gone on to become some of our most successful graduates.

BA Criminology

This course is ideal if you're interested in how society responds to criminal behaviour and the challenges that this provides. Blending theory with practice, you’ll develop your knowledge by exploring key issues related to crime and justice before testing that knowledge through placements (when possible) within criminology-focused organisations and projects.

Studying BSc Medical Biochemistry with us will introduce you to new ideas and products that are applied to some of the biggest health problems of today. You’ll study the subject with a focus on human biology and medicine. Core themes will include chemistry, immunology, and molecular biology. There are two honour degree programmes to choose from - one is a three-year Bachelor of Science (BSc), and the other is a four-year Master of Science (MSci).

We’ll teach you how to think like a biochemist. You’ll develop essential research, diagnostic, and laboratory skills. The wide range of academic and professional skills gained on this course will prepare you for different career paths within the field. You can choose from working within a hospital or private labs in the health sector, research institutions, and pharmaceutical and biotech industries. You’ll study in some of the UK’s best laboratories, equipped with cutting-edge technology. Our £36 million Hatchcroft Building houses the bioscience suite, the cell and tissue culture lab, the mass spectrometry and medical engineering labs, to name just a few. You’ll have access to all the latest equipment you need to develop your skills and launch a career. Access to the labs is dependent upon any restrictions resultant from the ongoing Covid 19 outbreak.

How you’ll practise your skills

• Our course is unique among other medical biochemistry degrees because we focus on getting you work experience throughout your time with us. You’ll have the option of taking a year-long industry placement that’ll help you develop your transferable skills. We also have a work experience module that’ll allow you to increase your chances of employment and practice working in the scientific field. Workplace learning is under the control of our employer partners who may need to restrict access to placement learning in light of the ongoing Covid 19 outbreak.
• You’ll learn through a series of computer-based sessions, practically focused learnings, and workshops. This mixed learning style will ensure you’re practising your skills in hypothesis formation, data collection, analysis, and interpretation as you learn. In addition, you’ll get the chance to become a member of the Middlesex Biochemical Society and gain experience as part of different research groups.

During the course, you'll study two compulsory modules designed to advance your skills and knowledge in topics fundamental to managerial decision making. Our BA Television and Digital Production has been developed with industry experts to give you one of the most practical and career-focused television production degrees in the UK. Taught in combination with direct, remote and streamed access to our state-of-the-art television studio, industry standard Avid editing suites and top of the range equipment, you’ll get to grips with everything you need to know about broadcasting, streaming, and video on demand. With the option to study a three-year BEng, or a four-year MEng, you’ll gain a broad understanding of both digital and analogue electronic systems. You’ll also enhance your problem-solving ability and learn to use professional methods and software to build complex electronic circuits and systems.

Build your electronic engineering skills
Electronic engineering has a visible impact on modern life - from smartphones to smart cars, and everything in between. You will design and build complex electronic circuits and systems-on-a-chip using a range of methods and software tools, applying a systems engineering approach to problem-solving, opening up career opportunities wherever automation is involved.

Led by our team of industry experts in high-tech labs, you’ll learn the specialist skills you need to succeed in a variety of roles that range from wireless and digital design and network design to network planning, mobile internet applications and services development.

• There are two honours degree programmes available for each area of study – a three-year Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) and a four-year Master of Engineering (MEng).
• Both degrees share a common first year, but due to the advanced nature of the MEng programme students must demonstrate they have the high-level knowledge and skills required at the end of year 2 and 3 to progress on the programme.
• You must apply direct to either the BEng or the MEng, but you can also choose to change programme. You must apply for the MEng in Year 1 if you want to guarantee your student loan will cover the fourth year of fees.

Our multi-disciplinary biomedical engineering course mixes engineering with biomedical science and physiology. This provides you with a solid understanding of the technological developments taking place in the fields of medical engineering and bioengineering.

You will build on your previous experience in applied mathematics, physics, or other sciences. During your course you will enhance your engineering knowledge and gain specialist skills which will help you to design and improve existing and emergent systems, devices and treatments.

Our degree has been specifically designed to meet the standards set by the collaboration between the UK Quality Assurance Agency and the Engineering Council alongside the demands of healthcare providers. You’ll gain specialist biomedical engineering skills to follow in the footsteps of graduates who’ve forged careers in clinical engineering, biomechanics, orthotics and prosthetics.This course will cover the engineering design principles and engineering fundamentals such as mechanics and electronics and the mathematics that support them. We have fully equipped, state-of-the-art laboratories for medical device design and human performance measurement. You will also have access to the facilities in ourbioengineering and physics research laboratories. It is here that we’re making significant healthcare developments, which include the monitoring of premature babies, deep brain stimulation and the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

You can gain valuable professional experience – and receive a Diploma of Employability Studies – by taking a work placement with the NHS or one of our industrial partners between years two and three.

If you are applying for our four-year MEng biomedical engineering degree, you will not only be able to gain an integrated masters qualification once you’ve completed the fourth year of the degree, you will also be able to receive student loan funding to cover your course fees.  Continuation on the MEng degree is subject to you achieving a good academic profile in years one and two.

Biomedical engineering studies gives you the ultimate stepping-stone to a number of global career opportunities in a rapidly expanding field. You will graduate from our course with career options in a variety of sections, including  clinical or rehabilitation engineering, bioinstrumentation, biomaterials, biomechanics, and medical imaging.

You will enrol on a four-year course which includes the one-year foundation year. The number of students who progress to degree study is very high. The Foundation Year in Performing Arts is taught in our excellent studios and facilities at our Hendon campus by the same lecturing staff who teach on our degree courses. You are taught in small group seminars, workshops and lectures.
