The program provides instruction in the languages, cultures, and civilizations of East Asia (China, Japan, and Korea); Asian humanities and religions; and Asian-American studies. Individual programs may emphasize the language, linguistics, literature, history, thought, religion, and society (ancient or modern) of more than one cultural area (China, Japan, or Korea). Students may specialize in the East Asian region or one or more discipline-focused studies of East Asian subjects. Advanced study of Chinese, Japanese, or Korean is required.

Flute studies at the Fred Fox School of Music include weekly private lessons, a weekly studio master class, small group technique classes, flute pedagogy and more. Along with applied study, students earning the Bachelor of Music in Performance with a Flute emphasis perform solo, chamber, concerto, orchestral and wind ensemble repertoire for live performances, competitions and recordings. The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art with an emphasis in Photography, Video and Imaging encourages students to conduct a rigorous investigation into the nature and meaning of photographic representation and its role in contemporary culture. Students demonstrate commitment to expressive inquiry, develop maturity of vision and take responsibility for their professional development as artists. The program offers a progressive approach to the practice of photography, asking students to question and expand the boundaries of the medium. Students take courses in traditional black-and-white darkroom techniques, digital and other image-forming technologies, color processes, large-scale photography, video and performance.

Immerse yourself in the Spanish language while learning various cultures through the ages via Hispanic the Literature emphasis. Students seeking their Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a Hispanic Literature emphasis will take language courses in both Spanish and Portuguese while studying Hispanic literature. Outside of the classroom, students hone their Spanish language conversation skills in Spanish Club or their Portuguese-speaking skills in Bate Papo. Various study abroad programs through the University of Arizona provide Spanish majors the opportunity for additional language and cultural immersion, adding to their undergraduate experience.

Psychological science is the study of the mind and brain and how these influence human actions with an emphasis on psychological research. Coursework includes the study of development, learning, personality, memory, perception, consciousness, sexuality, love, spirituality and more. Students must first complete 18 units of foundational psychology coursework within the Pre-Psychological Science requirements.
