The Animation & Digital Media program at Thomas Jefferson University connects students to the animation and digital media industries with the objective of becoming successful filmmakers as well as designers capable of applying skillsets to a wide range of industries which are increasingly in demand. The program offers a thorough understanding of animation fundamentals along with practical experience utilizing cutting-edge tools and techniques. What is Animation?
Animation is the process of combining design, storytelling and production to add life to many types of media. This can include animation for film, television, visual effects, websites, multimedia presentations, mobile applications and video games.

You will learn the entire process of creating beautiful and engaging animations, from concept development and design to working with 2D and 3D animation production software to bring their creations to life. This program equips you with the knowledge for many careers, such as:

The Interior Design Program at Jefferson is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) and a top ranked undergraduate program in the U.S. Known for our excellence in interior design education we prepare graduates for successful careers in the evolving global marketplace. With an emphasis on creativity, balanced with the knowledge and skills required for meaningful contributions to the interior design profession, we instill in students an understanding of the global, cultural, social, aesthetic, technoligical, environmental and ethical responsibilities inherent to the design of interior environments.

The Bachelor of Science in Interior Design program is grounded in the belief that the interior designer mediates between the human experience and the built environment and should enter the global marketplace as articulate, creative, inspired and socially aware design professionals. The program integrates collaborative, interdisciplinary and study abroad opporunities broadening students' knowledge and abilities. Our Philadelphia location provides a multitued of options for internships, memberships in professional organizations, and partnerships with community organizations and industry professionals, all of which give our students a unique advantage with real-world hands-on experience.

The Jefferson Communication program prepares students for today’s media marketplace through a broad-based education that emphasizes storytelling, critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and multimedia skills development.

The program tailors itself to the unique career goals of each student, and provides the key skills necessary to transition into new areas of communications, as the marketplace continues to change and grow.

Jefferson’s M.S. in Historic Preservation not only prepares graduates to preserve historic buildings and sites, but also to re-envision and re-purpose the past to serve present and future needs. The curriculum foregrounds adaptive reuse of historic structures as well as in-depth analysis through historical research and graphic documentation. Students develop skills fundamental to assess the condition and evolution of buildings and promote the ways historic structures order the urban fabric, contribute to healthy communities, and facilitate “place-making” as a catalyst for community revitalization. Students apply new and rapidly evolving digital technologies for managing, documenting and interpreting culturally significant structures and places.

As the first UNESCO World Heritage City in the United States, Philadelphia is a living laboratory of architectural styles and periods, offering a wealth of real-world projects and internship opportunities utilizing buildings and technologies, dating from 18th century Georgian through mid-20th century Modern.

At Jefferson’s new Center for the Preservation of Modernism, students develop preservation protocols tailored to the unique character of early and mid-century modern architecture, the next preservation frontier as these buildings age, and may study the preservation of modernist architecture abroad at the iconic Bauhaus Building in Dessau, Germany or at the Giuseppe Terragni Archive in Como, Italy.
Students customize their course of study by selecting one of two tracks: Research and Documentation; or Preservation Design; and specialize in a field compatible with their track drawn from the College of Architecture and the Built Environment’s graduate offerings including Sustainable Design, Geographic Information Systems, Façade Technologies, Architectural History or Real Estate Development. The curriculum affords students the freedom to explore topics that suit their interests and further their professional goals.

Interdisciplinary Studies majors become effective professionals who are skilled communicators and solvers of complex social, civic, and professional issues—in local, national or global contexts. Through experience in a variety of liberal arts and professional methodologies, you will become a skilled researcher and thinker who not only knows where to look for information but also is able to assess how to apply disciplinary strengths in innovative ways to a variety of existing and emerging professions.

The Master of Science in Microbiology & Immunology Program offers choices for career specialization with flexible schedules, professional training for academic credit and academic preparation for national professional certification.

The broad-based curriculum includes a minimum of 40 credits. Course content includes:

Master's research thesis or, alternatively, a Non-Thesis Option
The program may be completed on a part-time or accelerated (coursework) schedule over a period of 1.5 to four years. Courses are offered late afternoon/early evening and meet once per week, allowing students the flexibility to work while taking classes or devote their full attention to their studies. Flexibility is the key. .

Vascular sonographers or vascular (vascular ultrasound) technologists use sophisticated diagnostic ultrasound imaging machines and transducers that use high-frequency sound waves to produce dynamic visual images, to record:

• Vascular blood flow
• Blood pressure
• Limb volume changes
• Oxygen saturation
• Cerebral circulation
• Peripheral circulation
• Abdominal circulation

They also assist physicians in diagnosing disorders of the vascular system and acquire information related to blood vessel anatomy and physiology: cerebral, peripheral and abdominal circulation.

Vascular sonographers work directly with healthy and critically ill inpatients and outpatients of adult and geriatric ages, performing predominantly noninvasive procedures in small, low-lit rooms. They stand or sit beside the patient, who is on a stretcher, exam table or wheelchair. Sometimes the vascular sonographer will transport a portable ultrasound to a patient's room and perform the test there.

Graduates of the MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences will demonstrate expertise in the design and application of research methodologies to meet the needs of the evolving biomedical and pharmaceutical industries and academic laboratories. The curriculum provides instruction in all phases of the drug and biologic development process including preclinical drug discovery and development (computational design and synthesis of new molecular entities and molecular characterization), screening and formulation, analytical support for clinical trials, health care pharmacogenomics profiling, metabolite analysis, pharmacokinetic characterization and pharmacodynamics.

The program is part of the Jefferson College of Pharmacy (JCP) and offered in collaboration with Jefferson College of Life Sciences. The program may be completed on either a full-time or part-time course of study and students enrolling in this 34 credit MS program may select either a thesis or non-thesis track.

The Human Genetics and Genetic Counseling MS program will provide students integrative education and training to become compassionate and knowledgeable genetic counselors.

Learning Outcomes

• Jefferson College of Life Sciences launched our MS program in Human Genetics & Genetic Counseling, in the Fall of 2017.  
• Employment of genetic counselors is projected to grow 21% from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all occupations as reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. There are only 48 graduate genetic counseling programs in the country.  Placement of a new genetic counseling program within the rich clinical and health science environment of the Jefferson enterprise would provide students significant competitive advantage.
